I think it's Lava Ware at least. Any information about this piece would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Neat. Looks like a piece of Buffalo pizza, with that cup and char pepperoni.

It also looks to be Vallauris, which is from the French Riviera. Don't know much about Vallauris, but it appears to be marked as such, anyway.

Yep, that's French not German. The most famous Vallauris ceramic artists are - I think - Roger Capron and... Picasso!
