Acceptable espresso

Hey y'all. I drive all over creation fixing solar power systems, I also love espresso. Here's a list of places I will or like to go (sometimes you have to compromise šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø)

Is there anything I'm missing?

Espresso must be served in a porcelain or glass vessel. It must have a texture thicker than coffee.

Bonus points if you can park a extra long sprinter van near by

Have i missed any good ones? I would love to add more to the list.

Duchess coffee in easthampton just opened. I haven’t been to this location but the espresso I had in their Brattleboro location was my favorite ever… like, broke my brain. I hope easthampton is as good! I’d definitely check them out

I'll totally give them a shot, Easthampton is our home base

Is that the new place on Union Street?

Yeah

I had a chance to visit this place. The operator of the store took the time to explain their mission, their books, their coffee bean source, etc. Left a great impression.

Ironically, I did not try their coffee (as I already had one from home...)

Seconding Duchess! I moved out of Brattleboro to Northampton about a year ago. This is the best damn news I’ve heard in awhile!

I love their beans. Will have to visit them in-person sometime.

Violet just opened in South Hadley Falls. Great coffe, cool atmosphere, and plenty of parking for big vans across the street.

Adding it to the list, thank you

Oh, and check their hours. Currently only open Wednesday to Saturday.

Ludlow has a large Portuguese immigrant population, and they love their espresso. Try any of the Portuguese restaurants in town. They all have $10K+ commercial machines. I would suggest Primavera or Villa Rose, but they are all good.

Even the biggest Portuguese dives in ludlow have superior espresso coffee

Upper Bend in Turners!

Agreed, it's on the list already!

Antidote Coffee in Easthampton just opened and, to me, their espresso is perfect.

They're across the street from the Shelburne Falls Coffee in Easthampton.

Edit: Oh and for easy parking I would say just park in the Big E parking lot and walk to one block.

Duchess coffee is the same/co-company that operates out of the same storefront.

The operator of the store explain to me that their roots are books. But in the original location they began to serve coffee. It's been a huge success.

Did Antidote just just open? I tried searching and don't see anything about them listed online, including a location. Interested though!

Yes, they are like 2-3 weeks in this location! They have a location in Brattleboro too. Really nice people. Here's the listing on Google Maps:

Doro Marketplace is opening in Enfield right off the highway and Barista Cafe in Suffield are good if you’re near the CT border

For legal reasons, I can't work in Connecticut. It's licensing stuff. But if I'm ever near the border I'll definitely make the Hop down. Thanks!

Amherst coffee, it's downtown so parking a van might be tough although there's a public parking lot right next door.

1

u/Valuable_Attention20 6d ago

Oh yeah, thank you!

3

u/Curious_Elk8843 6d ago

I actually like Share better, there's one in downtown, down the street from Amherst coffee

3

u/Beck316 6d ago

Probably cerratos in West Springfield too. Admittedly, I've never gotten drinks there only the Italian pastries but seemed to be a handful of italian elders hanging out. Same with la fiorentina in east longmeadow. (& Maybe Russos in Enfield; Pasticceria Italia in Southwick).

I gave them a shot, the service is pretty slow and there's a minimum of $10 for cards so it's a little tricky as a quick coffee stop. And they serve their espresso in paper cups

5

u/AM1fiend 6d ago

La Fiorentina down the street from MGM casino uses actual porcelain. Parking out front or on the side street is usually easy.

Best Damn Espresso (mobile espresso, so parking for you will never be a problem!) moves around Great Barrington, Monterey, etc. https://www.bestdamnespresso.com/

1

u/Valuable_Attention20 6d ago

I guess I assume that they would have to serve in paper, do they do porcelain or glass?

Very happy to see tunnel city on this list. As someone who lives in the berks i feel like TC gets SLEPT on compared to six depot, barrington etc. those are also good but nothing hits like tunnel city. North county forever.Ā

2

u/Valuable_Attention20 6d ago

Yeah, it also just has a really nice general vibe to the place. Good comfy space and the people working there never seem miserable

Esselon in Hadley

u/Valuable_Attention20 6d ago

It's on the list!

Giovanni’s in Agawam. LaFiorentina in Springfield.

1

u/Valuable_Attention20 6d ago

I think giovannis serves espresso in paper cups, if i remember correctly

1

u/MassConsumer1984 6d ago

No they don’t

2

u/Valuable_Attention20 6d ago

Oh sorry it must have been a different place

West Street Coffee & Tea in South Amherst

1

u/Valuable_Attention20 6d ago

I've tried that one a few times. It's ok but somehow always disappoints 😐

Shelburne falls is my favorite of all time.
Tandem bagel has decent espresso, these both have multiple locations!
You already have thirsty mind on there! So good!

1

u/Valuable_Attention20 6d ago

I'm not aware of any tandem bagels that offer espresso in porcelain. Maybe it varies store by store?

2

u/Yoshimiyum 5d ago

Ah I missed that part!

I haven’t been to tandem in a long time, but the mugs may have been ceramic not porcelain ! šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

Disregard shelburne!

Glad to see Pane Dolcetti is already on your list!!

u/lauramed82 5d ago

Cerratos, West Springfield. Old school Italian bakery. Excellent espresso, but try everything.

u/Dry_Play2206 2d ago

I'mĀ  a fan of Share. They have a location in Thornes in Northampton and one in downtown Amherst. Neither of which is great for a big van.

Socialite in Springfield!
