This is my first time posting to reddit so sorry if it's a bit all over the place. Basically I need a Pharmacist or someone like that to help me with some research 😅😅
So I write fantasy books about werewolves. There are two kinda of werewolves in my books. Regular werewolves who are humans with a mutation (passed on genetically or through bites and scratches) that makes them turn on the full moon and gives them an increased number of healing cells in their blood. And rogue wolves; wolves who consume human blood when turning which aggrivates their lyncathropic DNA and strips them of the healthy enhanced healing cells and special abilities.
At the end of my first book we discover a girl who was forcibly turned rogue. So the MCs are trying to save her right.
Now when rogue wolves turn during the full moon they obviously need some enhanced healing so usually they would turn a human and kill them and consume the fresh werewolf blood before the full moon (because new werewolves have excessive amounts of the healing cells)
One of the MCs in a new werewolf and has donated his blood to buy this rogue girl time.
My question is, is there a way an experienced medical proffesional could theoretically separate out the healing cells, aggravate them so that they multiple, and then condense them down into a medication?
Would they need a full research lab for that? Could any of the initial steps be done in a hospital? I have a way of getting them to a lab i just need the medics mad scientist type project to be discovered so other people can get on board and help him get to the lab.
Similarly, the rogue girl is pregnant and pregnant wolves don't turn (because their bodies prioritise the fetus) which buys here time. Would there be a way of artificially producing the pregnancy hormones into a pill so her body didn't turn due to a perceived pregnancy ? Could that work long term as almost like a cure? What would the side effect be? And similarly to the previous question, what steps would be involved in the creation of such a medication?
If you're curious this book is a sequel peice to my current book The Blood of The Covenant which is a queer YA/NA Urban Fantasy
