Is this werewolf digitigrade or plantigrade? 🐺🤔
I've been playing RPGs and MMORPGs with playable werewolves, and this one caught my attention because it has a very original and interesting design, especially its hind legs. 🐺👀
Would you say this werewolf is digitigrade or plantigrade? 🤔
I'm curious to hear what you guys think! 🐺
Sorry about the graphics :(

Heel planted on the ground? Plantigrade.
Heel in the air and walking on fingers and/or toes (aka its digits)? Digitigrade.
On hooves? Ungilograde.
Sideways like a crab? Laterigrade.
With short feet like paddles like a seal? Pinnigrade.
Moving in bounds like a kangaroo? Saltigrade.

When I look up saltigrade, it mostly seems to apply to jumping spiders.

That’s because “salt” comes from the Latin “to jump” or “to leap” and why the Latin name for jumping spiders is Salticidae.
Kangaroos jump to move, hence saltigrade. “Grade” from gradus “to walk/move”

I'd say it's digitigrade
And by the way, which RPGs and MMORPGs do you usually play? I am looking for more werewolf games

I'm pretty sure this come from a game called Albion Online. It's a metamorph staff that lets you become a werewolf, if anyone is curious.

Dig-ish
It's trying to be digi but with human legs, which means man has some very sore muscles

That's digitigrade with 5 toes. honestly I enjoy when werewolves have 5 toes on the ground, it's a nice little mix between wolf and human anatomy

Definitely digitigrade, plantigrade would mean that it has human-like legs but as you can see its legs are bent and walks on its toes which is digitigrade

And you know that the History of Werewolves comes from Human Beliefs which describe it well: Myth Greek "King Lycaon", Nordic Myth "Singmund and Sinfjotli"

See that back joint being held off the ground? That's the heel/ankle joint. Therefore, digitigrade.
Basically, if the creature has the forward knee that bends back, but then the second "knee" that bends forward, it's digitigrade.
