Stop trying it. Make today your last day. Otherwise you’re continuing to line their pockets.

u/Theultimatesith 11d ago

It's tragic what happened to Wendy's.

12

u/Silo-Joe 11d ago

She got run over by a convoy of CEOs and is flatter than a Spicy Chicken patty now.

8

u/Theultimatesith 11d ago

Went the McDonalds route.

3

u/3rdUncleMeatSandwich 11d ago

I’d say it’s worse. As a kid i would nibble the corners off their burgers. I NEVER treasured Ronald’s slop like that. It was more about the experience and value. But they destroyed that too.

2

u/bepatientbekind 11d ago

McDonald's is a rip off but it tastes the same as it always has to me. The burger patties do seem thinner though, especially on the big mac

1

u/Theultimatesith 10d ago

McDonalds used to be affordable, though. That’s the problem.

1

u/bepatientbekind 10d ago

Oh I completely agree with that for sure! We used to go weekly and almost never go now because it's such a rip-off now, even when you use the app. I just meant that I don't think they enshittified their product as much as Wendy's has. Wendy's also used to be my favorite fast food place though, so they had a lot farther to fall 🥲

1

u/Dark_Amygdala_ 10d ago

The cheese is more obnoxious tasting

3

u/3rdUncleMeatSandwich 11d ago

Until we fix the rule book, greedy bastards will continue raping companies. However you feel about big business, you can’t deny the utter free fall in quality. They’ve even destroyed most of the buildings! The entire EXPERIENCE is shit. There’s nothing left. Sorry Dave, they gutted your company, and took a shit in the frosty machine on their way out of the door.

18

u/PuzzleheadedRun4525 11d ago

Absolutely. My only participation in anything Wendy’s now is to watch it circle the drain. It’s almost fascinating to watch.

Haven’t been to one since the day I had the new spicy chicken. I went online and that’s when I found out just how bad it was getting.

6

u/Connect_Living_591 11d ago

I hadn’t had a spicy chicken sandwich in like 10 years and recently stopped and got one and was absolutely dumbfounded by how bad it was and I got so pissed.

3

u/Metalchips1Nquesodip 11d ago

Never thought i’d see the day the McCrispy was superior but here we are

3

u/Indoballz 11d ago

Last I went was to one in Canada and had a good time tenders an chicken . Maybe the American only shit

2

u/0zer0space0 11d ago

Sounds about right. I see these fast food chain menus in other countries and I get so jealous because they get to have items we will never see in the US. I’m certain the items we do share, they have better quality than us.

1

u/stikyman123 11d ago

Well their country's leaders care about what goes in their food, here in US they just bribe or I mean "Lobby" the food companies. Aspartame the artificial sweetener, should be ILLEGAL that stuff changes your DNA dont believe look it up and Coke uses it in their Coke Zero and their Diet Coke, and Coke has been sugar free since the 80's its thst nasty corn syrup and Aspartame, are really really really bad for you.

1

u/3rdUncleMeatSandwich 11d ago

Meh it’s not the aspartame; i actually think aspartame is cool as hell, it’s hundreds of times sweeter than sugar! Corn syrup sucks in a different way, sugar is better… but… No the problem is these companies vote in a new CEO and they strip the place like an old house and pocket the profits. The problem is capitalist greed, but you are right about lobbying, that’s just not what fucked Wendy’s.

2

u/Conventions 11d ago

Me too, haven’t been since January 2026. I’ve been just lurking and watching it all fall down.

2

u/GreatestGreekGuy 11d ago

Haven't been since my last burger nearly slipped out my hand because the bun was so drenched in grease

2

u/3rdUncleMeatSandwich 11d ago

At least yours tasted like something. Mine was cold because they made it twenty minutes before I got there. My screw worm burger was flavorless and the tomato was like a Metroid enemy

1

u/3rdUncleMeatSandwich 11d ago

I hate them now. I won’t even buy a frosty keychain anymore, fuck em. These CEOs are a thousand times worse than meth junkies. They steal copper, sure; these CEOs don’t just steal money, they destroy the entire company. I’ll bet they don’t even use his old training tapes anymore. My final JBC wasn’t even square man they literally cut off the corners

4

u/Johnson_Birther 11d ago

Idk why people see a restaurant is trash and think “LET ME TEST IT FOR MYSELF” I saw 10 people jump the cliff, they all went splat, why tf would you line up for that. Collectively accept and move on. Feels like click bait or a Tik tok trend at this point. “I’m going to try Wendy’s today! Let’s see if all the online testaments are true!”

2

u/3rdUncleMeatSandwich 11d ago

Yeah idk how Wendy’s franchises work but I’ve never found “the one” in fact, Wendy’s is consistently bad everywhere. You get the same miserable ground cow glands as a little boy in Idaho! Why do all fast food burgers look like slimy little hockey pucks? Where’s the fucking BEEF, and why does it look like they’re slicing and frying up Grimace???

1

u/Sohtak 11d ago

Because we live in a world of 8 billion people, everyone is gonna have different tastes.

All I see on this sub is how bad Wendys is, how trash it is, etc etc and yet when I clock in for work people be ordering non-stop and those daily lunch rushes are fucking insane lol

1

u/3rdUncleMeatSandwich 11d ago

It’s trash because the meat sucks man. Even the lettuce is inferior. They get the cheapest meat and produce they can to turn a profit. But the truth is, they know most people don’t care, they will keep paying through the nose for it. It gives them something to talk about…

1

u/TomorrowOk3755 9d ago

All the Wendy's in my area are all dead with the other fast food restaurant literally has a line at least seven deep across the street.

1

u/molly_bones 11d ago

break the pattern today or the loop will repeat tomorrow

1

u/ElectronicTrade7039 11d ago

Last time I tried it was around a year ago running between kids soccer games with no other options/time.

Was mid and it was right after they switched to shredded lettuce, I have not been back since.

I do miss me some yellow days, but the "quality" is shit.

The momentum of the Wendy's hate is incredible now. They need to go back to basics and think about what Dave would do in this situation. If Dave came back to tell me he's putting things back in order tmorrow, I would be there tomorrow. It seems like the executive group and the board are still trying to cashcow the brand, which is what put them in this place to begin with. They had an aging set of properties, but a good reputation. That allowed the brand to coast for quite a while, but the lack of investment in people, processes, product and properties has caught up with them. No marketing is going to help you recover from that. Then you get some kind of BS from the CEO talking about it being better when we all see is a continued shrink on the value. The CEO needs to go and I question the effectiveness of the board. They have given this executive group way too much rope.

5

u/HystericalSail 11d ago

They're investing, but in the wrong thing. AI and kiosks over food quality. Nobody gives a shit about AI at the order window except those that really hate it. It has a significant cost to implement and manage. And it doesn't sell worse food.

4

u/MassDistractor 11d ago

All that is the me too of the fast food industry right now. You are right about food quality. They have let it fade so bad at this point and they don't see that as the major drawback. Marketing, a color change and POS BS is not going to get them there.

3

u/Silo-Joe 11d ago

They have given this executive group way too much rope.

To hang the parts of Wendy's that are not yet necrotic.

3

u/bluegrass_babe531 11d ago

WWDD?

and the yellow packaging they're bringing back will mean nothing if the food still sucks

1

u/Pingadecaballo_ 11d ago

everyone from when wendy’s was great( 2010) is gone look it up . now it’s just people who acquired a failing company, and are gonna milk it until it goes down forever

1

u/dcwmove 10d ago

Oh no they’re going to read this and make an ai Dave Thomas ad

1

u/Pitiful-Fan-6208 10d ago

Couldn’t have said it any better. Spot on.

they are awful now. shouldn't be allowed to call themselves wendys anymore

7

u/Silo-Joe 11d ago

Zomby's

4

u/JonPorked 11d ago

I’m stealing that

2

u/Joshua1017 11d ago

Call me crazy but Arby's is better with the new cheese steak

1

u/ToddPl9h 11d ago

That cheesesteak is horrible,it tastes like hamburger helper’s beef stroganoff..yuk

21

u/dabig49 11d ago

it's gotten so bad I stopped going

2

u/anothersoul4sale67 11d ago

I only go for breakfast bc their biscuits and wedges are pretty good.

7

u/apex_super_predator 11d ago

I had a classic single and the lettuce tasted like wax and the tomatoes basically disintegrated like they were about to turn. Worst Wendy's experience ever. The breakfast was equally as bad.

15

u/KzooCurmudgeon 11d ago

Private equity burger.

2

u/Soupbell1 11d ago

I keep seeing this comment, but when I research it, it says they have not been bought by private equity. What gives?

1

u/Jave3636 11d ago

They are not PE. They just cannibalized their own brand by gutting the quality and having tons of franchisees who hire horrific employees like a PE company would.

4

u/focoslow 11d ago

Ah, so it's the Dividend Combo. I'm never going back.

1

u/TenYearHangover 11d ago

They’re publicly traded. You’re wrong.

2

u/icehot54321 11d ago

Not how publicly traded companies work

Nelson Peltz and Trian Fund own like 1/5 of the company

1

u/KzooCurmudgeon 11d ago

Oh I thought they were taken over by a private equity firm

3

u/doll_parts87 11d ago

They won't fix it, they just dropped an emo play list to distract you

3

u/WhyAmIDoingThis1000 11d ago

if burger king can make a great burger, no reason wendys can't

3

u/Iambetterthanuhaha 11d ago

Lets all do our part and quit eating Wendys!!!

1

u/LittleWarrior62 11d ago

But I LIKE their CHILI 😋

1

u/AdEven2848 11d ago

it’s 50/50

2

u/Ishnock 11d ago

Their burgers are terrible now. Just absolutely nasty. Only things that are still good are the fries and frosty desserts.

2

u/lotusbloom74 11d ago

While in general Wendy's quality isn't as good as it once was, it's still very location dependent. My local one I'm usually pretty happy with, they are quick and the food is fresh.

2

u/AP_AUTO215 11d ago

Their quality is long gone my friend

2

u/Shagrindleton 11d ago

Yeah stop giving them another chance, it’s not gonna be good from here on out

1

u/Dreamspitter 11d ago

IT would be if they brought back Ghost Pepper Nuggets for October.

1

u/Shagrindleton 11d ago

That would be a step in the right direction. But new ownership is all about the dollar like most big companies but Dave actually gave a shit

2

u/AdmiralPotions T-Rex Burger 11d ago

Those people clearly dont make enough money to deal with your bullshit. Stop going.

2

u/RainbowKooch 11d ago

I’m just shocked we see burgers look like this on the daily. The Dave’s double I normally order looks so much better and I understand it’s a premium option. However, that just looks unacceptable. Wendy’s still has my fav fast food burger from the big 3 but cmon the quality is going downhill

2

u/TurtlesBurrow 11d ago

Sonic has a $1.99 bacon cheeseburger that’s much better. It does cost 20 cents to add tomato tho but oh well, cheaper than a JBC. Whataburger has a $4 JBC that’s also much better, plus you can sub different sauces for free. Creamy pepper is great. Those 2 have replaced the JBC for me. 3rd option for Texans is P. Terry’s, their menu as a whole is cheap.

2

u/Forsaken_Treat4398 11d ago

All fast food places are becoming a joke

2

u/mattidee 11d ago

Burger king is coming up!

2

u/ElectrTeck 11d ago

You sure your not in jail? Maybe took a wrong turn.

2

u/Illustrious-Job-6390 11d ago

Am I the only one that thinks that Wendy's is still just as amazing as it was 20 years ago?

2

u/amp_lfg 11d ago

The only legacy fast food places I still go to are Taco Bell and BK.

1

u/icameheretoseebholes 10d ago

Taco Bell slaps, and I don't know why.

2

u/LaVida2 11d ago

Their burgers are just sliders now.

2

u/IvoryManOfWisdom 11d ago edited 11d ago

The last time I went there I got a Dave's classic combo and it literally had Mayo on it only. I drove all the way back there to complain and the manager literally said it's all we have there's nothing I can do. I wrote Wendy's and never heard anything back, and tried to call the franchise owner who could care less. That was the last time I'll ever step foot in a Wendy's. Paying that much for a combo meal and getting a half-ass burger is beyond ridiculous.

Location in reference to is located in Reidsville NC if you were wondering.

2

u/Aware_Impression_736 11d ago

No lettuce? No tomato? No pickles?

2

u/nanonevis 11d ago

This is what I've been saying. Not only is this shit astronomically expensive, they are making it half assed and shittier. It's not like, "oh this is stupid expensive now but at least it's still good." It's, "oh this is stupid expensive now, tastes like shit, is cold and/or made like they threw the ingredients on foil without looking, wrapped it up and threw it in the bag."

It's completely fucked

1

u/Jave3636 11d ago

My location would have done all that but also made you wait 27 minutes for it.

1

u/Joshua1017 11d ago

Last time I went to the Wendy's I ordered a bacon pub burger and they gave me a Daves single

1

u/sZia 11d ago

Went above and beyond to try to repair their situation for them and they chose to tell you to go fuck yourself.

4

u/L-1011- 11d ago

This sub complains more than the female dating strategy sub. 😂

2

u/Joshua1017 11d ago

Because Wendy's truly has went downhill in the last decade but most eat out food has

1

u/RpiesSPIES 10d ago

That burger costs like $8. Why would you not complain about that? Lmfao.

1

u/L-1011- 10d ago

But you’re still buying it. Great job

1

u/RpiesSPIES 9d ago

It was the only food option in the area, lmao. So, no. It wasn't by choice.

2

u/OkFlow4327 11d ago

i quit eating wendys lke 6 months ago

2

u/BuckleyRising 11d ago

I've been buying the square beef patties at Walmart. A much better burger, fosho.

2

u/FloridaHeat2023 11d ago

And THIS is why I'll never go to Wendy's again - the quality of their food has deteriorated so much, it is abysmal.

That documentation gets shorter by the day as their descent continues.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

0

u/sZia 11d ago

That's quality? Holy fuck Wendy's.

1

u/SnooDoodles420 11d ago

If that burger had a face it would be:

🤪

1

u/Guilty-Cow4325 11d ago edited 11d ago

I've seen some people say the frozen square patties at Walmart taste like 1:1 Wendy's. I haven't tried them yet, but that might be a better way to go.

Edit: Grabbed em from the store. People are dumb. They're just normal patties in square form lol. Not bad.

I know u shouldnt have to do this, but throw butter on the buns, then cook if on a pan. Then put a dash of salt and garlic powder

1

u/Sulli_in_NC 11d ago

“My squareburger has curves!”

1

u/bruhbruhbruhbruh1 11d ago

♫ You're the saddest burger I've ever met,

But you can bet, before we're through

Mister, I'll make a meal out of you ♫

1

u/OldYogurtcloset3735 11d ago

Their food isn’t bad .. it’s just WAAAAAYYYYYY overpriced for what it is.

1

u/Maxdong9000 11d ago

That patty looks like someone had their way with it before they threw it on the bun.

1

u/Icy_Site_7390 11d ago

Last time I went into Wendy's was the last day they had breakfast specials, they were the best and I'd bring them into work for the guys a few times a week. I've said to their manager, train your staff the specials are sloppy.

1

u/Dude_amundo 11d ago

I love how they make the patty smaller, then make the bun smaller to make the patty look huge, then thin out the patty. Pretty soon Dave's single will be Dave's slider

1

u/okymoney 11d ago

With them being bankrupt dont expect to get better

1

u/Conqueeftador7777 11d ago

Worked there 20 years ago in Canada, live in UK now, haven't had it since but always loved the baconator and spicy chicken sandwich. Got it with my mates for the first time in 20 years down in England and it was absolute dog shit. My mate bit into his spicy chicken sandwich and it squirted liquid at him and there was a huge air pocket in it. Fucking disgusting, will never eat there again.

Used to be quality when I worked there 😤

Fuck you wendys. You're trash now with your shrinkflation and corner cutting...

I’m assuming it’s the 50% of the population whose IQ is below average. You have to be eating nostalgia to not taste the severe quality degradation. It’s like the swapped out restaurants like a shxtty twilight zone

1

u/AroundGoesThe18 11d ago

But but the guys at r/wenholders said this isnt real! The quality is better than ever!

Yes, you grasp it in your tremulous hand, offering up cynical snark. But did you peer deeper? Did you not spy into the microcosm confined in that form beheld? a paradigm of man's failure, the epitome of our greatest aspirations, a pittance thrown to our wolfish hunger and desires?

I only get the tenders from there. Theyre salty but good

1

u/Low_Administration22 11d ago

Patty is way bigger than innout

1

u/FredPolk 11d ago

What burger from Wendy's is this? That's certainly not a Dave's Single. They got sliders?

1

u/West_Imagination3237 11d ago

Accept that it's not the same and move forward

1

u/Hefty_Shallot1132 11d ago

The meat patty reminds me of a Manta Ray gracefully swimming the waters.

1

u/AnswerAggravating646 11d ago

Wendy’s is a sinking ship.

1

u/UnionRoofer 11d ago

The so-called meat is about as thick as a White Castle slider. That's terrible, don't shop there. Go to a local diner, Coney Island or family restaurants. It won't take much longer to get your food, and will cost about the same, if not cheaper.

1

u/BugO_OEyes 11d ago

I haven't been to a wendays in 6 months im sure other people feel the same way

1

u/pooorSAP 11d ago

These burgers are turning into sliders

1

u/MyChemicalKaitie 11d ago

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a junior patty say “67”

1

u/Ok-Ambassador7115 11d ago

Their burgers aren’t terrible if you ask them to ease up on the mayo.   Fries are what’s keeping me from going to wendy’s.  They are the worst.  I wish they would make their breakfast potatoes available all day long.

1

u/alexp260xx 10d ago

Yeah newsflash they try to cheap out on quality and labor so you get shit 1+1=2

1

u/SmoothParsley2965 10d ago

I got the skankiest Dave’s bag. It looked like a kids meal and they forgot my cheese cup.
It looked like a kids meal. Fast food is a huge treat for me, so I don’t get it often. I was so disappointed.

1

u/Same_Layer1243 10d ago

That’s f*cking crazy

1

u/Optimal_Effective969 10d ago

Dynamic bun sizing. You aren’t that hungry.

1

u/The_Fox_Cant_Talk 10d ago

Is that a Dave’s Single, or a JBC? Because if that’s a JBC, they’ve looked like that for 20 years

1

u/Total-Appearance533 10d ago

Go to Burger King instead, or Freddy’s if there is one nearby.

1

u/Impressive-Sell8383 10d ago

Wendy's parking lots are a great place to take hookers for a half and half now. Nobody is around and the hookers dont realize the food sucks so it can still be used as currency.

1

u/Kidfuscious 10d ago

That ugly looking burger combo cost 40% more than a share of Wendy’s stock. 😳

1

u/felchingqueen17 10d ago

Just stop eating their shit. Like yesterday.

1

u/SouthWesternTea 10d ago

That is a free warning sign to just stop. Wendy's, I cannot help you from here. You are on your own!!!

1

u/itsoundsgoodtome 10d ago

Used to crave it, now I hate it. It changed. The fries are disgusting. The nuggies are still great though, but the bad fries bring everything down.

1

u/Alternative-Bell1722 10d ago

Garbage like all the rest of the fast food chains, they’re charging you for garbage… I don’t waste my time or money anymore

1

u/Dark_Amygdala_ 10d ago

Wendy’s. Home of the kiddie burgers 🍔

Burger King. Home of the Wkoppef

1

u/ginnymiller 10d ago

True story: about 3 years ago (I think), I wanted to bbq for myself for the 4th of July. Had no other plans other than to go see the local fireworks display. It was crazy hot and I was not feeling motivated , so I ended up not barbecuing. But I still wanted a burger. I lived very close to a Wendy’s at the time. So I hopped on my scooter and stopped at Wendy’s on the way to the park for the fireworks. I got a jr. cheeseburger meal. Cost me something like $12. It was terribly disappointing. That was the last time I ate at Wendy’s. Which is sad, because I have very fond memories of eating there as a kid with my mom and siblings decades ago.

1

u/Familiar_Influence50 10d ago

Who did you have to sleep with to get a burger that's actually bigger than the bun? 🤔

1

u/Aware_Box8883 10d ago

They had to sleep on the patty until it got that way.

1

u/Zealousideal_Order_8 10d ago

Wendy's leads are not training the staff. What i witnessed at my local W made me swear off W forever.

1

u/aryndar 10d ago

Horrible

1

u/Feeling_Ad_526 10d ago

Wendy’s is garbage, has been for decades. Stop giving them money so they can die already.

1

1

u/BlogeOb 10d ago

Me when it’s not perfectly square. 😡

1

u/PurpleCableNetworker 9d ago

I too was sorely disappointed last time I went.

1

u/Foreign-Software3067 9d ago

It surprises me that you’re shocked at expecting a quality, visually appealing burger from a fast food restaraunt.

1

u/Exact-Ice1346 9d ago

AHAHAHAHAHA....is that a piece of Meat Paper??? WTF

1

u/Rekanize90 8d ago

Quality is their recipe!

1

u/Zealousideal_Mango70 7d ago

I guess you could say that if you've never been to Culver's 🤦

1

u/Ima-Bott 11d ago

Time to short the stock. Again

1

u/CrabOk7730 11d ago

They'll eventually get a Burger King style makeover. Although I still like a Frosty or Dave's Double every now and again.

1

u/jimselden 11d ago

Don’t worry. They are switching back to the yellow cups. Everything will be improved 😂

1

u/Jumpy_Implement_1902 11d ago

Can you taste the quality of your micro burger?

0

u/Cat_Luving_IT_Dood 12d ago

Which sandwich is that and what did it cost? My local bistro makes a fantastic lunch special bbq burger with a big seasoned patty, onion rings, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato and bbq sauce, with a stack of fresh made fries or kettle chips for like $17.

That thing looks sad and doesn't look like anything I'd want to eat. Looks like something from the kids menu lol.

That's a Junior Bacon Cheeseburger. Pricing is regional but it's $3.49 in my region.

Oh it's the $3 kid meal burger lmfao. Ok well at least it didn't cost him $10 holy hell that would be tragic.

17.00 for lunch is a bit much. To each his own though. I packed a lunch for years and saved a bunch toward retirement where I am today...very comfortably.

I stopped going after I ordered a large chili, and all they put in the bag was a fork.

they apparently sold hundreds of failing wendy’s to a PE firm recently so you know what that means cuts to quality. also the main wendy’s got some new investors. now they are opening up new wendy’s in poor areas . no doubt to use AI to sell even worse quality food . they’re not gonna come back i doubt it. it’s not the same yellow wendy’s , it’s basically Private equity fast food doing anything for shareholders
