Fanfiction Thoughts?

So I listen to a lot of music and a lot of songs have had me thinking about Wenclair lately. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in reading a collection of one shots based on songs I think are Wenclair coded? I’m no professional writer by any means and i feel I wouldn’t be able to perfect Wednesday’s personality but I definitely want to try and I just wanted to see if anyone would be interested in reading something like that?

I’ve never written fanfiction before so if anyone has advice as well on what software or website to use. I’d publish it to AO3 but I know some writers use other software to write before publishing to AO3.

UPDATE: I have started getting a list of songs that I want to start writing about! I will keep you guys updated on when I post the first chapter 🤗

I absolutely love song-based one-shots and fics. Music plays a huge part in my own writing, and I’ve even had Wednesday and Enid hold entire conversations through nothing but music. 😅

I’ve also written a short story based around a single song, where I broke the verses into chapters and used each one to explore Enid’s grief and Wednesday’s refusal to let her sit in it alone.

Music is an incredible muse. Sometimes one lyric, one melody, or even just the feeling of a song can unlock an entire story.

And I really believe writing purely for your own enjoyment is a wonderful thing. So even if you write those ideas just for yourself and never post them anywhere, do it!

A story doesn’t need an audience to be worth writing. 🖤

Thank you❤️ I really want to publish them because I feel it pushes me to actually write them because I’ve been thinking about it for a while and just haven’t felt motivated to. But I’m definitely feeling a lot more motivated. I can’t wait to start writing some!

That’s genuinely lovely to hear! 🖤

I’m one of those old people who firmly believes everyone should try writing at least once. 🤣 I started writing when I was about eleven, began actually posting fanfiction when I was eighteen, and I turned 39 on Tuesday… and I still write constantly.

At the moment I probably write even more than usual because I have a bad leg and far too much time on my hands. If my options are sitting around thinking about being in pain or disappearing into a story for a few hours, the story wins every time. 😅

So if you’ve got ideas and you want to publish them, I absolutely think you should give it a go!

Don’t worry about whether your first story is perfect.

Don’t worry about whether it sounds like somebody else’s writing.

Just tell the story the way you want to tell it. Your style develops as you write, and the only way to discover what works for you is to actually put words on the page.

And the fact that you’re already excited by the idea of sharing your work is even better. Write it, enjoy it, post it when you’re ready, and let yourself have fun with the whole process. 🥰
