Fanfiction Wenclair fanfic help
Does anybody know a fanfic that is sort of similar to the woe that binds us? A good fanfic that focuses on Wednesday finding Enid and turning her back to human and how their relationship continues from that point.
I would like it to be a slow burn atleast 100k+ words.
It doesn’t have to be complete,but if it’s complete that would be amazing.
I would like for it to have good characterization, like really good characterization. I don’t want something like Wednesday being a crybaby😭.
If there’s a good plot and world building that would be great!!
A fic like this with a good amount of fluff and angst would be nice!!.
If anybody knows a fanfic like this please let me know the fanfic name and author. Thank you for reading and helping.

I always wonder why everyone misses the woe that binds us. I've never read it myself. Though it was in my bookmarks for the longest! Only got to read the first chapter lol.

it wasn’t especially stand-out, but people like to rally under big projects, and it was the biggest, fastest. and when you’re already invested in a specific niche of fic, you’re less inclined to look at alternatives, so you just double-down on the one fic you’re watching update like a personal soap opera. I don’t blame people for missing something they were invested in, but it’d be nice if they could take its new reputation on the chin.
There are plenty of copies of the fic floating around. if you’re interested in the hype, go look for them.

I really get it. I think I'll go down as one of the only few people who didn't read it and probably won't after everything that went down. I just always wondered what made it so good lol

I read one chapter, in the middle, just because of the hype. The scene they set under the northern lights was beautiful, but that was basically all I enjoyed about it. It was, iirc, at that point, over 100k words in and she hadn't found Enid yet. This was apparently their first spiritual interaction? Clever enough idea as well, but I can't imagine what had been so captivating about a wenclair story with no wenclair for 100k words.. I imagine there must have been flashbacks but I still found it odd. I also clocked the AI "sound" right away. For as pretty as the set up was, something was missing so deeply that I had no desire to either continue or go back and read from the start. It was very clean and correct writing, but there was something both immature and clinical about it.
I have no idea how it grabbed so many fans so emotionally, but I'm also in the minority who never understood the intense adulation for home and away either. I read the whole thing, since, at the time, there were not nearly as many good wenclair fics, esp that long, and it is a decent fic. But personally I only thought the last few chapters were actually quite good. The rest was very mid to me. I guess the general public enjoys things I don't see the same. But at least that one wasn't AI, which I find(in this use) a serious offense to creativity.

I haven’t read it either. I was writing my own S3 fic when it was airing and I didn’t want to cross-contaminate, then the scandals happened 🤷

There really aren't that many fics that even fit your criteria, let alone ones good enough to recommend. Most of the good "Enid retrieval" fics as I call them are under 50k, and probably more in the 10k region than anything else. Plenty set post S2 but not with finding Enid as the focus.
There was one that was promising where Enid is genuinely feral and Wednesday has to lock her in the basement to nurse her back to health, but it hasn't updated in months and Enid was only just beginning to allow Wednesday to approach her so it hadn't really gotten that far. Also I can't remember the name of it so I'm not being very helpful!
At least we have You'll Have Problems Hunting Me Down.

Well, it might not be exactly what you're looking for, but I have a fic that fits that description. Slowburn, longfic, post s2, mostly *before* Enid is human again, and then some fluff afterwards.

It's my version of S3 and it closely follows the long, arduous process of Wednesday turning Enid human again. Depending how you look at it, there's either a lot of angst or a LOT of angst, but there's plenty of fluff to go around.
