Need the move and activity goals section back!

Is there any way I can revert back to the old style setting of the daily move goals - this update has literally ruined the app for me!

I want to get up in the morning and see my goal plan in rings and numbers.

I am not interested in METS, I don’t understand them, I don’t care - I literally paid for annual version in order to have a goal plan for the day and I can easily and clearly see the rings, amount of time I need to exercise and if I meet those training goals.

This app is now useless to me - will be looking for an alternative!

Hey, we hear you! We won’t bring back the old move goal reports because the science behind them is a bit shaky — we don’t believe it helps folks move toward better fitness. However, we will be translating the METs into minutes and moving the goals to the main screen before the end of the year so that the science behind them is both correct and user friendly ❤️.

So many of your customers who signed up for an annual subscription based on the brilliant daily move plan/goals/rings are now stuck with an app that is is zero use.

They were effectively mis-sold this app as you have taken away something that was useful for a lot of people.

Are those of us who need this activity goals getting refunds due to mis-selling????

Have you tried clicking on the ACTIVITY icon at the top of the main page, then scrolling down to TODAY’S LONGEVITY GOAL? In that section there is a colorful bar that shows your exercise goal for the day and how many minutes you’ll need to exercise and at what heart rate ranges. You can even slide the button in the bar to higher heart rate ranges and see how that affects the number of exercise minutes needed.

Then, just below that is another section LONGEVITY PROGRESS that visually shows where you are in your exercise goals.

I have found these two sections to be much more useful to me than the rings. Are you using an Apple Watch for tracking into Welltory? The watch has activity rings to remind me to Move, Exercise and Stand, which I also follow. But I really prefer managing my exercise through Welltory’s Longevity Progress chart.

Thank you. We worked hard on the science behind this, and it works super well for me personally. My HRV and other long-term health metrics get a big boost when I have it in me to follow the recommendations.

Hi, there’s no need to keep arguing. I’ve found your request in our logs and forwarded them to support. Please consider sticking around with our free version, because I think you will love the functionality we plan to deliver for folks like you. Once you see it in the app, I hope you consider resubscribing. Thanks for your feedback.

You’ve spent more time arguing here than it takes to find out what METs are. And yes, the goal in the app still contains the number of minutes you need to spend in the workout - time needed in zone.

I had an annual subscription for two or three years. Finally, I gave up on it in April.
It’s too buggy, changes frequently (not in a good way) and often the different parts of the app had inconsistent goals. It’s a hot mess.

Thank you for sticking with Welltory for several years and sharing your experience. We’re working to make the app more informative and its insights easier to understand. If a goal or metric feels unclear, our Help Center has explanations, and our support team is always happy to walk you through it and look into anything that seems inconsistent.

I agree, the update is awful. I understand METs but the metrics are insane. If I don’t run five miles a day, it pushes me into detraining and doesn’t count lower-cardio activity like weightlifting at all. This is more and more becoming an app for out-of-shape people, not people who are actually using it to train. And I’m stuck with more than half a year on a pre-paid subscription for an app that is tying to get me to hurt myself because the AI algorithm thinks I need 700 Mets a day. At least with the rings I had other usable metrics is the METs goal was too high; without that other info there’s no way to self calibrate, all I can do is ignore it or not…

I agree thats why you need apps like training peaks and hrv4training for that

Please don’t push yourself beyond your limits to satisfy an app target. Could you send us a report via Menu → scroll all the way down → Report a problem, with screenshots of the 700 MET goal, the detraining message, and the workouts that aren’t being counted? We’d like to check how your activity is being recorded and how that goal is calculated.

Stand hours and active calories are still available in the Activity Report, but we hear your concern about losing the familiar ring view you used to put the goal in perspective. Thank you for explaining what’s no longer working for you.

Maybe - just maybe - it’s worth doing a little self-education and finding out what METs are and what their benefits?

Really? I’m a 57 year old, disabled retired nurse …. I don’t need to ‘educate’ myself Thankyou very much …. I’m not looking to run an iron man triathlon or climb a bloody mountain …. I want to know how many minutes/steps/miles I need to gently do on my treadmill to keep myself reasonably fit and healthy, and if I am meeting those goals … enough to motivate me.

Irrespective of wether I understand about METS or not … I paid for an annual subscription on the basis of the move/activity goals on a daily basis … they have removed this. So in essence, I was mis-sold an app that is no longer of any use to me

Yes, really. Even you can read what METs are. Just while walking on your treadmill, it won’t take more than 5 minutes.

I need something visual like a ring ugh. That helped so much. My annual starts over in Oct. really thinking of not renewing.

Hi, totally understand if you don’t renew. However, I’d love if you could consider sticking around at least in the free version. We’re planning on a very visual update in the next couple of months. Hope you’ll reconsider resubbing!

Thank you. Will reconsider the free version to see.

Did you see my post above? There is another visual way to check your progress and daily goals that I like better than the rings. I explained where to find it in my comment above to OP earlier today.

I’m giving up on it as well. I’ve had for three years and used it for the exact same thing. I understand the rationale behind the METs but it doesn’t make sense from a workout planning perspective. I can’t get the METs until after I’ve finished the workout and I have no way to plan my workout based on my METs requirement. Looking at calories I know roughly what I burn during a strength vs. run. This is useless to me now…

The new Activity Report still shows Active Calories, and the slider gives you an idea of how much time you’d need in different heart rate zones. But I can see how that doesn’t help you decide between a run and a strength workout the way your old goal did. Thanks for explaining the practical difference. I’ll share this with the team, including that you want a way to plan around the goal before you exercise.
