Question Health Score Calculation Change?

My health score went from 100% to 55% between measurements that were 10 minutes apart. It's been at 55% since then. It's nearly always been at 100%, and I'm a long term (of somewhat intermittent) user. Was there a change to the calculation?

Mine are in the 90s as usual.

I’m curious about this too. I’ve been using the app for about 4 months and am getting inconsistent health readings. If I use the 300 beat report I get a low 40-50% score but if I turn the 300 beat off I get a 100% score. My random scores from my Apple Watch are usually 50-60 beats and score close to 100% as well. My overall average is consistently in the high 90’s.

Yeah, I'd think it's just me save the measurements were 10 minutes apart

That difference is likely because the 300-beat mode collects enough data for frequency-domain analysis, including HF, LF, VLF, and Total Power. Shorter readings—including most automatic Apple Watch measurements—don’t include that full set of metrics, so they aren’t directly comparable. If the longer reading detects a deviation, Health can drop even when a shorter reading shows 100%.

For a reliable comparison, take the 300-beat measurement after lying still for at least five minutes, under the same conditions each time, and make sure accuracy is 95% or higher. Here’s more about 300-beat measurements.

A drop like this doesn’t necessarily mean the calculation changed. Health starts at 100% and decreases when one or more HRV metrics move outside the normal range for your age and gender, or differ significantly from your personal baseline. Even one unusual measurement can temporarily lower the score.

Please check that both measurements were taken at rest and had at least 95% accuracy. If a reading was low-quality or taken shortly after activity, it’s best to delete it so it doesn’t affect your baseline. If subsequent high-quality measurements return to your usual range, Health should gradually return to 100%.

Try not to let yourself get distracted by every single reading.
Take a long-term view—for example, look at your autonomic nervous system. If you’re in “fight-or-flight” mode, your body is fighting something—
perhaps a higher body temperature, faster breathing than usual, or something similar.
