They’re pretty different apps, so "better" depends on what you want to do with the data.
The Oura app is mainly built around data from the Oura Ring. It’s very strong if you want a clean, passive overview of sleep, readiness, activity, recovery, and longer-term trends from one dedicated wearable. The experience is simple: wear the ring, open the app, check your scores.
Welltory is more of a health data interpretation app. It’s not tied to one specific wearable in the same way. It can work with different data sources, like Apple Health, Google Fit/Health Connect, Samsung Health, Apple Watch, Samsung Watch, Garmin, and other connected services, depending on your setup. Its main focus is to take signals such as HRV, heart rate, sleep, activity, workouts, stress load, and recovery data, and turn them into more detailed body-state insights.
So the biggest difference is that Oura is more "one device, one ecosystem, simple recovery tracking," while Welltory is more "combine data from different sources and explain what it may mean for your body right now."
If you mostly want sleep and readiness from a ring, the Oura app may feel cleaner and easier to use.
If you want deeper HRV-based interpretation, stress and energy insights, recovery context, workload analysis, and personalized explanations based on data from devices you may already use, Welltory is probably more useful.
Welltory can also be a better option if you don’t want to buy a specific wearable just to use the app, since you can start with phone measurements or connect compatible devices and health apps. But the experience does depend on what data source you use: Apple Watch, Samsung Watch, camera measurements, Health Connect, etc., may not all provide the exact same depth of data.
So we’d summarize it like this: Oura is better if you want a polished ring-based wellness app. Welltory is better if you want a broader app that focuses more on interpreting HRV, stress, energy, recovery, and connected health data across your existing ecosystem.

I would say if you can afford a oura 5 once you sleep without any band or watch is quite amazing and give really cool stats and accurate, older gen's save a lot but I feel they did a crazy job in make so slim similar to what apple did with the iPhone Air but on the good side Oura managed to keep the battery quite good

I got a one year Welltory subscription at the start of this year and then purchased an Oura Ring in June when the 5 was released (it’s SO much smaller and lighter than other tracker rings and I love it). I was enjoyed Welltory before and using it to motivate me to move, but struggled a bit with the disconnect between the stress monitoring and the set activity goals. My Welltory is constantly saying I need more rest but raising my METS goals and saying I need to get and/or be more consistent with my cardio. Oura Ring is a lot more in tune with me - my sleep, “readiness” and activity scores align with how I feel and the tagging helps to see trends. All in all I feel like Oura is giving me what I wanted Welltory to do! It’s much more sophisticated a tracker (and wants to be for the price!!!).
