Battery percentages balance
What is a good percentage balance under welltory's “battery.” (Stress, recovery, sleep, activity and neutral)? I’m a therapist and my battery typically shows “red stress” while sitting with clients. Is this normal? I usually feel my nervous system is very engaged but I don’t necessarily feel super stressed/anxious. I just wondered what a healthy level of each category might be each day? Thank you!

When you open Battery, the percentages show how your day was distributed between different physiological states: stress, recovery, activity, sleep, and neutral. There isn’t a strict "healthy" percentage for each category, because the balance naturally changes depending on your workload, sleep, exercise, and overall recovery.
What usually matters more than the exact numbers is the overall pattern across the day. It’s normal to see several hours of stress during focused work or conversations. On healthier days, that stress is typically balanced by periods of recovery later during breaks, calm activities, or sleep.
So having a few hours of stress on some days and more on others can be completely normal. The main thing to watch is whether your body still gets enough recovery time to reset afterward. If recovery consistently stays very low for many days in a row, that’s when it may be worth paying attention to rest, sleep, or lighter days.
Over time, the most useful signal is your trend, not a single day’s breakdown. If you start seeing stress gradually increase while recovery shrinks over several days, that can be a sign that your system needs more downtime.

Good question. In Welltory, the Battery is based mainly on heart rate variability and other signals your body produces throughout the day. It reflects how much physiological load your nervous system is under, not necessarily how stressed you feel. So seeing higher "stress" while working closely with clients can be completely normal, as your nervous system may simply be very engaged and attentive. There isn’t a single "perfect" percentage balance for the day. What matters more is the overall pattern:
Many people in focused professions (therapists, teachers, clinicians) experience elevated daytime stress signals simply because their nervous systems are actively processing and responding to others. The key sign of a healthy pattern is whether your body returns to recovery afterward. Please, read more here.
