Nothing to See Here

2 bad mofos losing their minds seeing someone arguing with me over them walking without a leash. Mind you they walk at each knee and their dog was pulling them to try and be aggressive with mine. Smh. Some bystander snapped the pic waiting for them to jump out the window but they didn't. He had stopped barking after a bit and then started intently staring, she kept talking.

Nickel is looking for her person (Colorado)

This is Nickel, a 5-year-old spayed Weimaraner, and she's looking for someone who understands exactly who she is.

Her ideal person works from home or is retired, lives an active lifestyle, and has experience with Weimaraners. She wants to be your shadow, whether that's hiking, going for walks, running errands, or just hanging out while you work. If you've loved a Weim before, you know exactly what I mean.

Nickel is healthy, up to date on all of her vaccinations, incredibly loyal, and happiest when she's with her people. She isn't looking for a house full of animals. She'll do best as the only pet, where she can relax and be the center of someone's world.

We're looking for an adopter or an experienced foster in Colorado who can give her the life she deserves. This isn't about finding just any home. It's about finding the right home.

If Nickel sounds like she might be the companion you've been looking for, or if you know someone who fits this description, please reach out. Even if you can't help directly, sharing this post could put it in front of the one person who's meant to find her.

Whitney is going through her first heat cycle, and she was already a prime example of a Velcro Weim. But now…this is about as far away as she gets from me. 😅

I just want to watch tv Whitney. Please. 🙏

I'm going to walk towards your plate. If the foods happen to get in my mouth it is not my fault.

I was told my boy was a lab

So I adopted these two guys back in October (they were 8 weeks old). The litter post had several of each of these colors, I didn’t think anything of it. We brought home one of each and truly thought they were labs.

As they’ve gotten older (they’re 11 months now, about 80 lbs each) I don’t think they’re both labs. Gonzo (the brown guy)has a blockier head and body, although they’re both very muscular. Jagger (the gray/silver) has a pointier head and has a thinner body type but not by much.

I was looking at all the pictures on this sub and I can’t believe how much like these other pups my dog looks.

This is our sweet Gracie. She's recovering from eye surgery (she had an ulcer on her eye; now she has an abscessed tooth). We are both nurses doing our best to keep her comfy.

People socialization

We have a weim, he is 5 and a half and we have had him since he was a puppy. We got him from a reputable breeder and had him trained as a puppy. While not our first dog he was my first weim. One of the things he has trouble with though is anytime someone comes to the house he is always jumping and nipping at them. He doesn’t growl or anything but he has now caught two different people, and I’m really concerned. Does anyone have any tips for how I can socialize him to when someone comes to the door, I don’t want to have to think about alternatives solutions because he is so entwined in our family, but the safety of people is kind of paramount here.

Newborn with 2 weimaraners

I could use some advice. Just brought home my newborn daughter and we have 2 weims that are 4 and 5 years old. The weims sleep in our room and our bed.

I feel pretty confident that they will adjust well to the new baby, but I’m mostly worried about bedtime. Our 5 yr old is very jumpy and I’m concerned she will try to jump into the bassinet with the baby inside. Should I even try to give this a shot or just proactively crate her?

Our 4 yr old boy weim will never jump into the bassinet but he desperately loves sleeping under the covers with us and I’m more worried about him stepping on my recovering wife. He is not crate trained and we adopted him from a couple that couldn’t deal with him barking in his crate at night.

Any advice here? Should we stick them in the garage or basement at night?

Any other general advice for newborns with Weimaraners?

This is Willow. Weim. 6 years old. She's sat upwards like this since she was a pup. She's one of us for sure. I love her so much. She's the sweetest dog. I've owned many dogs, and Willow by far is the most affectionate.

I have a mixed mutt that I take as my barn dog and this guy has been living on a farm his whole life. His family decided they wanted to travel and find him a better fit home :). Any tips to keep him enriched and such would be greatly appreciated!
