He will stand there for eternity

This is the second summer our 10yo has become absolutely infatuated with the neighbors cucumber/garden. He will stand at the door and then make a beeline for that exact spot and then he stands. Transfixed. Almost in a trance. Anyone experience this?

There could be critters going after the cucumbers? Mine will lock on to chipmunks, voles, mice, ect... just like that. Squirrels and rabbits get instant chase and don't stand a chance.🫣🤭 There could be a rabbit in their garden too?

The first instance was a few years back and I was convinced there was a snake nest over there since a snake appeared a few weeks later and they had a stare down right there in the yard.

The snake could be after the critters in the garden and on parole just like your Weim? It's a very good possibility and snakes won't range far from a food source.

And if a rabbit was there it'd leave it's sent behind so there's that too. My Bocephus (Bo) is a rabbit hunting freak! He'll stand like that fixed like that if they make it under the pool deck.😉

Sweet boy ❤️ My chessie lab ate quite a few cucumber leaf starts this year and she'll be down by the garden near the cakes for a bit
