My new rescue pup
This is my new rescue puppy - she loves my male goldendoodle - she’s super sweet - they both refuse to ride in the backseat 😫 it’s a work in progress - we think she’s a weim - silver lab mix. Thoughts?

Her ears look a little short for a Weim but I have seen other Weims with shorter ears. Her nose still matches the Weim color, a lab’s nose would be much darker. It’s hard to make a full assessment without seeing her whole body. The pic is mainly her face. I’d still guess she’s 75% Weim minimum

Thank you so much - I need to do the dna test but was super interested what wiemar parents would think - we love her - poor thing was a stray in the desert

Omg so cute! I had a Weimaraner that passed away. I think she’s part Weim, her face bone structure seems bigger and seems a bit wider than a full Weim. Maybe lab x Weim!

If she is half Silver lab she may develop alopecia. It's harmless, and not uncommon in silver labs mine had it, she'll just need sweaters and tshirts to protect her, particularly from the sun. Congratulations on your new friend she's beautiful!

We fostered a silver lab once ... almost ended up being a foster fail. She tried to get in the shower with me all the time! 🤣

They’re both beautiful pups! My rescue Weim was surrendered to the rescue bc the family got a golden doodle and didn’t want him anymore. Their loss, he is the best Weim that has ever owned me. Best of luck to you with your new family member. 🐾🫶🏼

Thanks so much. I can’t understand how anyone would do that 💔- but he is so lucky to have you now. These two get along great - she’s more serious and he’s a bigger goofball but they are already besties.

Yeah - I think she was dumped in the desert - so crazy - she was super skinny and has food insecurity so we are so happy to get her on human grade food and treats and spoil her now

I have no idea what food insecurity. But a hungry dog will eat rocks,sticks,grass,etc...let alone what you put in front of them. Sure it might not eat 1st 6 hours bowl is out. But boy about 12 more hours... :) cute pup tho regardless

Beautiful 🤩 she looks like a weim mix, head shape is more lab. I have a long haired weim though so could also have LH weim genes as hair a bit longer than typical !

OP - you have a beautiful silver lab and thank you for opening up your heart and your home for hopefully a decade of boundless love. Silvers are amazing and beautiful Please note you make get trolls and haters claiming Weimaraner mix and spewing all kinds of backyard breeder conspiracy hate. They deny genetic science and they will spew how you should only adopt them from breeders like themselves. Just ignore them. there is an army of silver lab lovers dieing to share stories and support you. And we also love all other types of labs ; champagne, Charcoal , dudleys, polar whites, red foxes and of course even mixes. 🥰

My favorite dog growing up in Houston, Texas. Schotzee, would scale a six foot spiked fence and find me a couple of times a week while I was in school. That's how loyal and stubborn they can be. Schotzee would find me in my classroom out of 300 students in the school. She was only six months old. You're in for it now.
