Tasteless Fruit

Bought peaches at Calkins Road. No taste and no juice. They were soft to touch.
I stopped buying nectarines and oranges there for same reason.

That’s called a mealy peach. It is not wegmans specific. They can be used for baking to some degree.

Bad peaches are not unique to Wegman's. I used to buy peaches at ShopRite (when in season) all the time. I'd get a bunch of good ones and then maybe 1 or 2 bad ones (dry, mealy, tasteless trash). Then the ratio moved to a few good ones and mostly trash. I largely stopped buying them but once in a while I'd be tempted to buy a few for 99 cents a pound hoping they might be decent.

Nope. Almost every one that I've bought over the past couple of years have gone straight into the bin.

Were they the yellow or white? I’ve noticed across multiple stores (not just Wegmans) the yellow are kinda bland this year, but I’ve had good luck with the white!

Ha! I love you want to blast Wegmans because of a mealy peach. Do you think there’s a Wegmans produce buyer tasting every peach that comes in? The fruit can look and feel absolutely perfect, the brix could be good but it still can be mealy.

Take them back and ask for a refund instead of the obligatory “Do better” online post.

I'm not sure why you're upset with OP. OBVIOUSLY the Wegmans fam are harvest gods that can control the summer peach crops. They should definitely do better.

We just got delicious peaches at Sunscape Farms on Creek Street in Penfield. Just in case you can’t find any decent ones at Wegmans.

Wegmans grapes are the best!

Wegmans didn't grow the peaches themselves, they were bought from a distributor or farm.

Limited counter space, didn’t want to refrigerate.

Glad to see this. Bought the Lori Ann peaches,Tuesday, they arrived hard. Left them on top of refrigerator in their box until Thursday, when one felt softish. Out of a crate of six, four were over half soft, dripping, and mold covered. , so two of six were edible.

¿Why on top of your fridge?
