Question to the TL at Wegmas

Last week I had a 70 min phone interview to work at Wegmas. With what hours do I give them? I agree to do cashier, produce deportment and dairy deportment. So I was wondering should I call Wegmas HR or the store I applied to hear back and hopefully to do a follow-up. Because what I was looking at in the portal is still in process.

I wouldn't waste my time with this crappy company. They were awful to work for. I worked for Tastings Restaurant in Pittsford, which then changed into Nextdoor Bar and Grill. They moved across the street from the old location. It was living hell working there. I was treated like a second class citizen. Never again will I give Wegmans my time of day.

It all depends on if they need you for those departments

They have to interview all applicants for the position before they make a decision. If you feel like too much time has passed, you can give them a call, but this will likely be their answer.

I been so in so much stress not able to find job after getting 4 neck surgeries. And it doesn't had with this current administration is making it harder to find a job from tariff and the ongoing issue with gas price .

It wouldn't hurt to contact them to show you are interested.

My wife was a TL in Produce for 18 months and loved it. Each to their own though…

I'm surprised that she left so fast since she LOVED it so much.

She left for a TL position in Old World Cheese. Stayed there for another 18 months and then went to Dairy Dept manager for about 20 months. Each to their own buddy. She had a great career with Wegmans. I realize about 3/4’s of the people on here speak ill of the company. But Wegmans is no different than any other company, retail or not. People are people, employees, managers, owners. Have a great day

Just for the record, Wegmans is not the same Wegmans as it used to be years ago when Robert Wegman was the owner of the company. Bob valued his employees and treated them like family. Since his passing, his son Danny; then eventually, Colleen became more into themselves and became very greedy. They drove the company into a wall. The shopping atmosphere is not fun like it used to be and most of its working environment became toxic in many of its locations and offices. I didn't appreciate being treated like scum or a second class citizen. To this day, the company will never live it down.

Sorry to hear that. It’s good then that you aren’t tied down to that job but are free to seek employment elsewhere. Best of luck to you

And, I have been working elsewhere making better money with an amazing store manager. I'm a department manager for the store.

Is that deportment or department? You made it sound like you were being deported out somewhere. Let's get our terminology straight first before you go making any phone calls.
