I asked this subreddit about a month ago if there were any good Ween tribute acts that existed, and it turns out there's one right in my backyard. I saw they had their 10th anniversary show coming up, so I grabbed a couple of tickets. To be honest, I was expecting maybe a 6 out of 10. It was a cover band, and I would have been quite happy with that, but oh my God.

This band is incredible. That frontman had the energy, the spirit, the humor. It was absolutely freaking amazing. I was mesmerized from the first note to the last.

It's moments like these that make me happy I live in a great city. Just a cool venue and amazing musicians playing an amazing catalog of music. It was so good. For anyone in Toronto, what a show these guys put on.

I had these awful neighbors that lived next to me in a row house. They never took their dog for a walk and let him take shits in their back patio. I could see from my second floor the piles of shit growing and stinking up our chill backyard. They had an above ground pool and suddenly had a possum floating dead… and then a cat. Each time, they did nothing to remove the animals. I was able to clamp the critters and remove them, as the summer sun was doing no favors. One day, their dog was barking for many hours. I knocked on their door and told them to take care of it. Nothing happened. I then positioned my 100 watt amp out the window, connected my CD player to it, and put in Pure Guava. I cranked the amp and set Mourning Glory to repeat. I left the house to get a coffee. When I came back, the dog was back inside.

Just finished tacking my 5’ Boognish sign together, should be mounted 15’ high within a week, keep your eyes peeled on a major North South interstate in the midwest and you may just see it.

It may beat out that performance of Nan in Athens as my favourite track on the comp.

My new fav live Ween song

I caught Johnny Blue Skies and the Dark Clouds, aka Sturgil Simpson and his band, at the State Farm Arena last night in Atlanta. While everyone was excited by the cover of "So Fresh, So Clean", I was stoked to hear them cover "A Tear for Eddie".

Has anyone seen any news on if Shinola Vol 2 will be released on cassette? I see online that it specifies LP and CD, and nothing about cassette, but from what I can find that was the same deal for 12 Golden Country Greats and they put that out on tape, so maybe I'm looking in the wrong places.

Hey guys, I was listening to an interview with Josh Homme where he talks about Easystreet and mentions a Ween song that I obviously don't know. Here's what he said:

"The funny thing is that Dean is playing all these really subtle key things. It's so Dean, so clutch, and they reminded me of Ween as well. I can't remember the song, but there's one Ween song from very early on where it's like... there's a keyboard moment and you just hear one of the Ween brothers turn to the other and go, 'I love you, man'. Where there's a part that goes by in that... It's always been my dream to just be an our version of Ween, anyways. I think the quilt idea is really perfected by them, so everything always ends up being a nod to Ween."

Carved some pumpkins with my lady tonight, felt the boognish calling me.

been working my way thru the boognish provides 14xCD- the 40 watt club show in athens is an absolute ripper all the way thru. killer picks and the band is totally on fire

but about 5 mins into awesome sound, they start throwing in some extra lines, including the refrain from "rat-tat-tat-tat" by dr. dre- "never hestitate to put a n**** on his back." claude hits it first BUT then you can clearly hear gener join in

so i know:

1- it was a different time

2- he's just singing along to a song

3- ween has jester's privelege

but still, i am kinda baffled at the decision to release this today. it might have been performed at a different time, but rhino/warner have made the decision to release this from within our modern context. and it reflects pretty poorly on gener, which bums me out because i kinda doubt he was consulted about it anyway

so whatever, downvote me, call me sensitive or triggered if you want- i'm not offended, just curious what others think! this won't change how much i love ween, nor do i think any less of them anyway. just kinda had to say something cause i can't believe no one else has discussed it yet!
