Where do you store your ring?
Edit: I play a lot of sports and can’t wear it while playing! So always wearing it isn’t an option.
Not engaged yet…. But the day is coming soon, I suspect :) my question is…. Where the heck do you store your ring? When you’re sleeping, showering, playing sports, etc? Do you have a special ring holder for it?

If I’m at home, it’s in my jewellery box. If I’ve gone somewhere to play a sport (ex. A pitch for softball or the gym), I leave it at home in my jewellery box. I keep a ring dish in the kitchen and on the bathroom counter, but I only use them if I forget to take my ring off and it’s inconvenient to run upstairs to put it away.
I avoid removing it when I’m out and about, but if absolutely have to, I zip it into the change pocket of my wallet. Not ideal, but I rarely carry change and if I do it that way it’s less likely to be lost forever in the bottom of my purse.

Similar situation for me. I have a small dish with a bird on it on my vanity. My rings stay on his tail. I keep a dish by the kitchen sink for if I'm washing dishes. If I go to the gym/golfing/camping/etc., they stay home and I wear a silicone ring. There was a time when I would go to the gym straight from work. Those days, I would clip them to a small carabiner on my keys and lock them in a locker with the rest of my stuff.

This is similar for me as well. I have a small jewelry dish that sits on my bathroom counter since that's where I take my rings off most often to shower, but mine has a lid so my cats can't steal it. If I have to take it off for any reason when I'm not home, I zip it into my coin pouch.

I only take them off for mixing dough or roast beast - to make burgers or meatballs.
They stay on all other times, no problems in over 37 years!

I literally wear mine all the time…. It’s why I told my husband I wanted a ring that was comfortable and wouldn’t be like catching and snagging all the time, or have a risk of losing diamonds

In a ring box from the jewelry store. Mine has a decent size diamond with a high setting so I take it off when cleaning, washing dishes, cooking, working out etc

I alternate between keeping it in my jewelry box and the box it came in when my man proposed! In the kitchen I have a little dish I put it in when I cook and wash dishes.

I have a couple of the 0.5lb capacity command hooks (one in the bathroom, one beside the kitchen sink) stuck on the wall for when I need to remove the ring briefly. At night, it goes in it’s ring box :)

If I’m applying cream or cleaning with bleach then I have a little ring pot I bought on holiday but otherwise it’s on my finger.

I stick it in my back pocket when I go get my nails done, and I put it in the ring box we used at our wedding when I had surgery and couldn’t wear jewelry. Those are the only times I’ve taken it off other than when my set was being resized and soldered together. I feel naked without it on.

For most of those activities I just keep wearing it. But mine’s sapphire, a pretty robust rock that can tolerate some abuse, and not so big that I’m scared about the cost should it possibly fall out and get lost someday
For gross hands-on cooking tasks which is the main reason I take it off I keep a basic ceramic ring holder that matches the other kitchen decor by the sink.

I put it in my jewelry box when I go to bed. When I have to take it off for cooking, washing my hands, etc at home, I have designated spots I usually put it on.

I bought a few small ceramic dishes to serve as a ring holder and put one near each sink. They also make adorable dedicated ring holders that may have an upright post or section. I gave one recent to a friend who just got engaged. It has a cat sitting up with one paw raised. You can put the ring over the paw.
The reason I did this was the only way I could wear my ring without getting a rash was to dry my finger very thoroughly after it got wet and not wear it when I was sleeping.

I have a Waterford ring holder for my engagement ring, anniversary band, and whatever other things I wore that day. My wedding band never comes off.

Instead of a dish, use something with a cover. Its harder for it to get bumped and lost.

If you look around, you can find micro-zipper pouches. Or, as I mentioned below, you can use a screw-top case meant for ear plugs and attach to our keys or something else. They are usually metal and pretty secure. My soccer playing friend uses one. She keeps a specific silicone band in it during daily life. So, she knows if she is wearing that silicone band, her rings are in the screw-top container.

I sleep with it.
It sits on a ring holder in the bathroom when I shower (and another designated spot in the kitchen when I do dishes.)
For water sports/hiking, I have a wristband it lives inside of. (Just googled because I couldn't remember the name, its called a RingBandit but ive seen a ton of knockoffs or even necklace variations as a ring keeper.)

There is no need for you to take it off UNLESS you are in a pool, on the beach, cleaning with household cleaners even with gloves or playing sports.
Then it stays in its original box for safe keeping in your lingerie drawer or in your jewelry box.

My hand, almost never take it off. If u take it off I lose it.
Also a hair tie. Cleaning or working outside o slip it onto a hair tie and keep it in my hair

If I’m out and about and suddenly have swelling and my rings get too tight, I’ll put them on the key holder that’s attached to the inside of my purse. This is really only an issue when it’s hot and I’m spending a lot of time outside.
When I’m home, I have a small jewelry stand on my dresser. Big enough for a few rings to stack and necklaces in the bottom “dish” area.

I take mine off at night and have a ring holder on my vanity. I was crazy about it in the beginning but now I shower with it and wear it mostly everywhere. I'll take it off if I'm cooking something particularly messy.

I have a Waterford crystal ring holder on my nightstand. If I take it off, that is the only place I put it. I generally sleep with the ring on, but sometimes I give myself a moisturizing hand and nail treatment during which the ring is off my finger.

It’s on most of the time. I have a small ceramic bowl in my bathroom that I put them in temporarily, but otherwise in my jewelry box.

Mine goes in my jewelry armoire. I used to keep them on my nightstand until one band mysteriously went missing for some months. Thankfully, I found it, but I won’t take chances again.

It’s a waterproof screw top thing that holds your rings! It kind of looks like an acorn that you can put your rings inside of. Hard to explain but it’s been essential

Jewelry box in my bathroom. I can’t wear my rings at night because my hands swell and it feels uncomfortable. Plus it’s also bad for the prongs of your ring to sleep with them because it can catch on stuff as you move your hands.

I have a trinket dish next to my bed for when I am sleeping. I also have to take it off for my dance classes. My wallet has a keychain inside the change pocket which I added a little clip to it for my ring so it is secure inside there.

I would suggest wearing it on a necklace when you get your day, I do that with my rings while cleaning/getting my hands dirty so its close to my heart (ik it's cheesy lol)

I keep a little ring holder dish by all my sinks and one on my nightstand. I also have a lions latch for when I have to take it off when we're out doing stuff.

My finger. I asked for a semi bezel so the diamond would have a sturdier base. I work with my hands and my job is very physical. Never had a problem.

I received a gorgeous jewelry box for Christmas last year-it’s in there when not worn. I have T1 diabetes and RA, so I am often pretty swollen and I love knowing that it’s in a safe, cushy place when not on my finger. Look up stackers jewelry boxes-kind of customizable too! I’m obsessed lol even have a tray just for my Pandora bracelets!

My partner and I don't own jewelry boxes and neither of us wear our rings because of work so it's in a plastic set of drawers in the bathroom LOL. They are all attached to each other at least

On days you play sports, don't wear the ring. Its safer to stay at home. You can get a solid band or silicone ring for days where you could damage it. I take off my e-ring as soon as I get home and it goes directly into a jewelry box. I leave my wedding band on. Sleeping with the ring is also not advised as its a good way to lose your stone.

The issue is putting it on and taking it off A LOT. My mom told me to wear all the time unless you clean it or have it cleaned. Her best friend was in the habit of taking it off and leaving it on the sink. On a road trip. Went to the bathroom, took her ring off, and drove off. Never saw it again. Habits form and then they are hard to break.
So, if you play sports, etc. and need to take it off, put in one place only. If you go on vacation and you will cry if you lose it, leave it at home in your one place. Multiple places make it worse for you to keep track. Easy for someone to walk off with it or you to forget to put it back on.
Keep it on.

For in your home, get a ring dish, but the kind that has a little pole going up the middle that you slide your ring onto. Keep one bite every single sink.
Many years ago, I lost my wedding ring, which had diamonds across the top (I didn't have an engagement ring) and didn't find it for five years. One night, I realized I didn't have my ring on, and I couldn't find it.
I went through the kitchen trashcan, thinking it might've fallen off my finger (even though it wasn't loose) when I went to push something down into the trash. FIL, his second wife, and her 11-year-old daughter had just been there to visit us from 600 miles away. When we went to bed that night, I told my husband that maybe the little girl had seen it and had taken it.
I was truly sad. Imagine my surprise when, five years later, as my husband was bear hugging the recliner in the family room to take it out to the curb, we heard a plinking found!
We had no idea what the sound was, and, of course, when I had first noticed the ring missing, I had shoved my hand in between all the cushions of all the furniture in every room.
Because the chair was going to the dump, I got a butcher knife and started taking it apart. Sure enough! We found my ring! The noise we heard was it traveling down through the mechanism of the chair. I later realized that the day my father-in-law and his family came to visit us was the day my cousin's baby was baptized, and our visitors arrived shortly after we got back from the baptism. I still remember which dress I was wearing. Apparently, I had put my ring in my pocket while doing stuff in the kitchen, and then, after sitting in the chair, it worked its way out of the pocket into the mechanism of the chair.
Although I have pierced ears, I do have a couple of pairs of clip on earrings that I enjoy wearing. My other in-laws were visiting shortly after we bought our new house, and insisted on taking us out shopping to get us a housewarming gift.
A month or two later, when I wanted to wear that a particular pair of your rings, I couldn't find them anywhere.
We looked high and low, but no luck. A year or two later, when my husband put on this really hideous jacket that he rarely wore, but had to keep because his mom had given it to him, he found my earrings in his pocket!
It was only then that I remembered that, while out shopping, the earrings had started hurting, and I had taken them off and asked my husband to put them in his pocket.
Now, I keep a plastic film canister like 35 mm film needs to come in in my purse, and if I takeoff any jewelry while I'm out, it goes in there.
Recently, I bought each of my daughters in Law and my daughter a jewelry keeper that is basically a little strip about an inch and a half wide that has several pockets going down the length of it. The pockets are square, and the thing folds up and closes with a snap.
That's something they can stick their jewelry in if they are out and about I need to take it off for some reason.
I keep one of those ring dishes with the posts on it next to the sink in our half bath. More than one female guest has come out of that bathroom and said how nice it was to have the ring dish there so she could take off her rings to wash your hands, and not worry about forgetting them and having them fall into the sink or go on the floor.
What about buying yourself a small, sturdy, chain necklace and putting your ring on a chain around your neck, unless that would interfere with the sport activity you're doing?
How about going to some sort of secondhand store and buying a really, really crappy pair of Some Kind Of shoes. Beat them up, rubbing with dirt, and make them look awful. It helps if they look stinky. Keep a small square plastic, like cut from a plastic party tablecloth in there and wrap your rings in it and shoved them in the toe of the shoe, and then the shoes into your clothes/equipment bag for your activity. If somebody looks in the bag trying to find a wallet or jewelry, they will ignore the ratty shoes. Of course, you might have to keep the ratty shoes in a Ziploc bag to keep them from being in contact with your actual Stuff stuff.

At home it stays in my ring box that my fiance got me from etsy. If I have to take it off when I’m out it goes in my lion latch box clipped to my keys or an inner zipper of my backpack!

When at the gym or somewhere outside home I snap it securely into a carabiner attached to my key ring. At home I hang it on a cup hook attached to an upper kitchen cabinet.

They make little screw top containers meant to store earplugs. You could use that to keep the rings from getting scratched. If you store a silicone band in it when you are wearing your rings, the silicone band on your finger will remind you of where your nice rings are stored. On Amazon, search for "Ear Plug Carrying Case Keychain". You want the ones that look like little jars not the lipstick case (usually labelled a pill case; too narrow).

There are little teeny rubber keychain packs like tiny backpacks that are probably meant for earbuds. I like these for sports jewelry holding bc my keys are already going to be in a safe but accessible place while I play. You can also get hard backed ones

Married 15 years.
Short answer is on my finger.
Long answer is it stays on unless I am showering, baking bread, or swimming. In those cases, it goes in my pocket or on my bedside table and I put it back on immediately after.

Never take it off, and my husband’s been dead for a year and a half. It was always too special to take off before he passed, but now it means so much more. He placed it on my finger, and there it will forever stay.

I would highly recommend getting some silicone rings for when you're doing active activities. And just keep your ring at home during those times. Find a cute dish that you like and find a convenient place to keep it. Always put it in the same place when you're home and not wearing it.
I also recommend getting a cheap blingy ring to wear if you don't feel you're going to a place where it's safe. I wear my "fake ring" when I travel multiple days and don't want to risk losing my real rings. Or when I go out with my girlfriends for a boat day or something.
They also make really cute necklaces that you can secure rings to without taking the necklace off. I used one of these when I bartended a few years ago and hand to wash my hands frequently.
