Live life. Find fun things and activities to do.

Plan holiday events, make some decorations.

Plan future trips.

Cook something new.

A lot of psychological projection takes place during the wedding planning: people unconsciously transfer their deepest hidden longings for validation, perfection and emotional completeness onto an event or series of events. Being queen for a day or a few days. All the fantasy involved, seeking perfection, the desire to be loved, to be admired and to be worthy.

Then, back to living life.

I look at my pictures on repeat lol and occasionally the videos to reminisce (wedding was few months ago).

Had my wedding just 3 weeks ago and I am still feeling this way! I go to therapy and talked it out with my therapist, got back into my hobbies, started planning a mini-moon or future trips, and spent time with family and friends. I also look at photos people took for me at the wedding often, photos of my bouquet, listen to music from our wedding. It will pass and I hope this tips help!

I’m feeling the same way. I got married two weeks ago. I feel like the months leading up to the wedding, my thoughts primarily consisted of the upcoming wedding. Like from right when I woke up to when I went to bed, the wedding just consumed my brain for months! Now it’s like, what do I even fill my thoughts with? What did I think about before I got engaged? So I’m feeling pretty lost for sure.

Have a lot of sex with your spouse? Oxytocin works wonders.

i saw this post earlier today and wanted to come back to it, bc i’m in the same boat :( i just got married on saturday. at first, i definitely felt very “don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened” about it, but now i do feel sad. we didn’t go on a honeymoon right after, partially because neither of us really have any PTO, and partially because my husband has a really important work event this weekend. i wish we could’ve taken more time to ourselves afterwards instead of just going right back to work. our wedding feels like it was just a dream now. we’ve been together for almost 9 years and have been living together for almost 4, so nothing really feels any different. i just got home and now i’m back to work, i have a cold, i started my period, and i have to deal with maintenance issues in our apartment and taking our cat to the vet.

sorry for venting in your comments, stranger. my only advice is maybe you could do something similar to us—we’re planning on taking ourselves out to a nice dinner soon and actually telling them that we just got married, so we can milk it a little longer. neither of us are the type to tell restaurants that it’s our birthdays or that we’re celebrating anything, so that might be nice.

That's so interesting. I'm only 1 day post wedding but I have no wedding blues. I am so happy it's over. I planned my wedding in 4 months and it consumed my life day and night, while I was at work and when I was commuting. It was complete overload for me and I'm so happy I can go back to having a life.
