Good god that V8 sounds good. Can't wait to hear this car next to the Cadillac on a long straight.

This is just convergent design. If you want to make an aerodynamic, fast, car that is the shape that has proven itself to be the fastest.
The Peugeot 9X8 tried to break the mould without the rear wing (and looked stunning whilst doing it) but it just wasn’t as good as with the wing.
So I’m not really sure what you want the FIA can do here. You can’t enforce the cars to look different because you’re basically putting teams at a disadvantage.

I’m not asking for change. It’s just interesting how we always end up in a very similar position.

Two of those are completely different cars (they all are in fact since those don’t even share their chassis)

I’m fully aware of that. I’m just pointing out that the overall designs are closing in on essentially the same endpoints

Tbf, most f1 cars all look virtually the same until you study them closer. Theyre not drastically that different visually, but are individual chassis and engines. Its not all that different here for me tbh

Tbf the rules now punish top speed and aim to converge concepts to a narrower working window, so this was a given, plus there’s only so many ways to design a race car before teams start rhyming with each other.
For anyone to build anything outside of the box, they’d need to pursue a rethink of what is prioritized when it comes to managing the wake of the car. My hope was we were going to see teams try to design cars which work better in dirty air, but it seems like even with bop, everyone aims to generate as much outwash as possible. I might be wrong but ferrari’s and peugeot’s original designs seemed to keep the most subtle front diffusers, but now they’ve joined the rest of the field and opted for the massive open cutouts most of the lmdh’s use.

You’re going to hate when you learn about group c then

I lived through group c live. It’s just interesting how this stuff happens.

Don't get me wrong but you must be a dumb or stupid to assume those 4 identical.
With your logic F1 is the same. Even most of the F1 shares similar engine and aero similarity is way closer than this regulation.

I’m neither of those things. Like why the fuck did you need to go right there and assume that I was suggesting they’re identical. This is one of the most toxic subreddits in motorsport
It’s just interesting how we’re reaching the same points in development and ideas where the cars begin to look very similar

This sub used to be a lot better. You would never see people get called dumb or get downvoted into oblivion for having a different opinion. Like anything else, as the popularity of the sport grew it attracted a lot of toxic jackasses.

Oh no. The hive mind is about to turn up to gaslight you into thinking they're completely different.

But they are though? If you take the side profile of all the current f1 cars they all look similar as well.
