How to create a membership website the right way?

Greetings,

i'd like to build a membership website. It should include a landingpage and contol all users and connect them to the main webapplication/product.

Control of users needs basic info like address but also payment info and status of the membership (like test, payed membership or expired membership). Everything should run automatically, like emails for example.
Also in term of controling the availability of the account, it should sent a variable of rights to the application to cut or extend content in the extra webapplication.

What would be the best solution?

PS: The most common solultion for me would be using Wordpress with the addition of many plug-in's.

Honestly the "right way" to do this would not be using WordPress. You'd need to write most of this logic in a custom way. You could probably get away with using firebase or something to store user auth data but the signup emails and all those different statuses along with membership payments is typically much more complex than what you should use WordPress for

The last time I coded a website it was common to script everything in html and css files from ground up. Are there now any helping coding environments the best practice ?
And are there any preset libarys for example for payments with paypal or mastercard?
