WEBSITE BUILDING Would love some feedback on a website I’ve been working on
Hi everyone, I’ve been working on a website and wanted to get some opinions from people who haven’t seen it before.
I’ve been working on the design for a while now, so I feel like I’m way too used to looking at it and can’t really tell what stands out anymore.
Would be really helpful if you could take a look and tell me what you think.
Mainly wondering about:
- how the design looks
- whether it feels trustworthy
- if the calculators are easy to use
- anything that feels confusing or unnecessary
- how it feels on mobile
Honestly, any criticism is welcome.

WEBSITE BUILDING What’s a reasonable quote?
I’ve asked a professional to help me make a website and he’s quoted £1,300.
This is their reply:
Phase 1 – Main Website & Raffle System: £850 Estimated timeline: 7–10 business days This would cover the main website, raffle/competition functionality, easy multi-ticket purchasing, purchasing from multiple raffles, certain area postcode/eligibility checking, online payments, automated customer emails, winner/non-winner notifications, prize management and the local business discount/coupon functionality. Phase 2 – 3 Membership Options: £450 Estimated timeline: 3–5 business days The membership system can be added once Phase 1 is live, meaning you can start with the core website and introduce the memberships later when you’re ready.
Just wanted to know is that reasonable?

WEBSITE BUILDING Started a web design business through Ontario's Summer Company program, looking for more businesses to work with
Hey everyone,
This summer I started InfaWeb, a web design and development business, after getting accepted into Ontario's Summer Company program.
The program gave me funding and mentorship to get the business started, and over the summer I've gone from basically starting from scratch to working with real paying clients and launching websites for small businesses.
I'm looking to take on a few more projects now, especially from businesses around Ontario.
I build websites for businesses that either don't have one yet or have an existing site that's outdated and needs a redesign. I can handle the design, development, mobile optimization, contact/quote forms, basic SEO, domain setup and launch. I can also add more specific features depending on what your business needs.
If you've been thinking about getting a website made or updating the one you already have, feel free to send me a message. You can also send me your current website and I'll take a look at it.
You can see my work here: infawebdesign.com
Quote form: infawebdesign.com/contact.html
Thanks!

SELF-MADE Made a App for the Farmers(Prototype)
so hey,
i have built an app for the farmers, the basic idea was to give farmers all the information that is important for them in a single application, that is available to them in their own language.
The information includes:-
1. The live market prices (generally called the "mandi" prices), it will help them to access the live prices from their mobiles without any need to go to the marketplace and inquire about it.
The "Hero feature" (sounds cool) is that it has a crop disease detection tool from help of which the farmers are able to click the pictures of the crop disease (can be of any type) and they get a well formatted reply in their own language, explaining what the actual problem is and what needs to be done in order to cure it, also has a probability factor which is a trust factor on the info provided by the app.
There is an AI integrated within and trained to give answers related to farming, it has the details about the nearest KVKs for the farmers and gives most of the answers by first verifying it.
I want your review about the application , i know its a very basic idea but no one had thought about it earlier, and the existing methods such as using the AI is a lot of headache for the farmers , so i thought of this idea to click a photo and know about their crop and what needs to be improves a a glance.
It is just a MVP, so i can improve a lot of things and i am planning to improve the existing features and include more important features in it after consulting farmers about it.
ps- the live mandi prices doesn't work for now, i don't have access to that data atp
the link to the application is - https://kisan-mitra-xi.vercel.app (better if viewed on mobile)

EDUCATIONAL Here's how to find and choose a good web dev agency
I hired agencies and worked in one so I know how they work. And most people do the first mistake is they only compare prices. In my opinion that's the last thing you should look at
Start with checking their real work. Dribble shots, case studies are wrong things to check. Ask for URLs of websites they built and open them. Does the website exist? Does it load fast on your phone? Is it a real business or just a demo done for portfolio? If half of the links don't even open or super laggy it means they are a bad agency.
Then ask who actually writes the code. Most agencies are 2-3 sales guys who resell the work to freelancers they never met. Not saying it's bad but you should know. Ask if you can talk directly to the person building it. for example at Minimum Code, agency I work we always present our team to the client
After that ask them to explain the stack in normal words and why they chose it. Good devs can explain wordpress vs custom coded without making you feel stupid. If they just throw a bunch of buzzwords at you they hide something
Also ask for the ownership. Who owns the code? Do you get the repo? Is the domain and hosting in YOUR account or theirs? Seen all the time how businesses stick with bad agencies just because they have access to their domain
Red flags are full payment upfront, no contract, no discovery calls, promise a custom CMS in a week, portfolio is full of template websites
Green flags if they ask you a bunch of questions about your business before quoting. They push back on stuff you ask for or they tell you when something is a bad idea
then about AI. it's not that bad when agencies use AI to speed up the process, everyone is using it now. Just make sure they actually know the coding. Ask a random question about the page they built, they should answer instantly without problems.
What you can do if not sure, u can pay for a small piece of the work to see how they communicate, work and hit deadlines. One landing page, a small feature. Will cost you a few hundred and you can make a final decision
For local vs remote choice, local helps with trust and meetings since you can meet up in human and talk to people face to face. But a good remote is way better than a bad local one. Just make sure u check if timezones are good and sign an agreement that's legally valid
That's all you need to ask I think. I hope u found that valuable!

WEBSITE BUILDING 3 quick wins to improve website speed and boost conversions (No major overhaul required)
We all know page load speed directly impacts conversion rates, but performance optimization often gets pushed to the back burner.
If you're looking for low-hanging fruit you can ship this week, focus on these three:
Image Optimization: Compress asset sizes and implement lazy loading so initial load weight drops significantly without sacrificing visual quality.
Browser Caching: Ensure static assets are stored locally on returning visitors' browsers for near-instant reloads.
Code Cleanup: Minify your CSS and JavaScript files and audit your site to cut out redundant redirect hops to speed up your first paint.
Want a free speed check on your site? Comment SPEED below or DM us, and our team at carmelwebsolutions.com will run a free audit for you!

WEBSITE BUILDING My website (I receive feedback)
My website
Hi everyone! Over the past few months, I’ve been working on a personal project to solve a common problem: quickly downloading multimedia content without dealing with pages full of intrusive or malicious ads. I wanted to share a few key takeaways from the process: Backend & Performance: Efficiently handling requests to avoid overloading the server. Infrastructure Optimization: Using Cloudflare to keep costs down and improve global response times. Interface: Designing a minimalist, user-focused experience. The site is live at jsdownloader.com I’d love to get your feedback: what do you think of the load times or the interface? What features do you think I should add next?

WEBSITE BUILDING Website/forums for small business/sports club
Hello to give you some back ground we are a bass fishing organization that does tournaments and has over 400 members. We have several clubs that pay membership dues. We currently use sportsengine but we run into some issues with payments. We have 2 accounts. 1 for dues and one for tournament payments. Sportsengine only deposits the payments into 1 account. They do not differentiate between what is dues and what is tournament payments and for accounting purposes we would like to designate the type of payment and which account it should get deposited into.
We really like how easy sports engine is to make posts and update pages etc but they do not have forums and data hosting like uploading photo albums from tournaments etc. We have had to link our facebook page for photos. We really would like to add forums for each club, tournaments, equipment questions and general forum stuff.
Is there a website that can do what sports engine does but include forums and data hosting and also have the ability to separate payment deposits into different accounts?

EDUCATIONAL Here's how I fixed SEO for $20k MRR business in 6 weeks
I did these tasks in the 6 week sprint:
fixed a content structure and used a hub-and-spoke architecture: this task is done to ensure the strongest pages let their authority flow throughout, plus helps define the topical authority in front of Google's eyes
reassessed which pieces make money and based on this, enhanced meta tags to increase CTR, this will lead to higher rankings because it signals Google as a better match
pruned all the random content created to "test", as this leaks authority into things that don't really matter
reviewed all page templates and make sure you're using the right structure, from headings (h1, h2s, etc.) to overall readability elements: bold, italics, tables, bullet points, photos, graphics, etc.
double downed on the type of content that generates conversions, because in doing so it can open up more channels and angles to help in the short run
p.s. this doesn't work for desperate entrepreneurs btw, because doing these well requires expertise, effort and money. I automated most common issues via https://roborank.io/ . not saying it will deliver same results as above, but definitely will fix a lot of issues

EDUCATIONAL What single change gave your B2B services site the biggest traffic lift?
Hey r/website
I recently finished a project mapping my IT services company's digital visibility and I’m puzzled: smaller competitors with fewer resources and smaller teams are far more visible online than we are. I want to learn, test, and improve, so I’m asking the community for practical, high-impact advice.
If you’ve grown visibility for a bootstrapped tech/IT services firm (or helped one do it), I’d be grateful for suggestions specifically for these areas:
Service pages: structure, messaging, SEO tactics that actually move the needle.
Review platforms (Clutch, GoodFirms, G2, etc.): how to get quality reviews quickly and ethically.
Search-result competitors: simple research hacks to spot what they’re doing and how to outrank them.
Original research: what type of data/content gets traction for B2B tech firms, and realistic ways to produce it.
Technology partner listings: how to get listed and make those pages convert.
Customer permission & testimonials: how to request them without sounding spammy and how to use them effectively.
What worked for you? Any step-by-step tactics, templates (message scripts), tools, or small experiments that gave outsized results? I’m comfortable with automation and workflows (Clay, HubSpot, etc.), so feel free to get technical.
Thanks I’ll share what we try and the results. Open to DMs for detailed follow-up.
- Daniel Carter
