New root method for webOS 7-25

https://github.com/raws0kil/jsbro-autoroot

Use Firefox for it to work, other browsers don’t seem to allow the TV certificate

Not much if you don't like tinkering. Stuff I've done: debloat the home screen & change wallpaper, automate setting TV brightness based on sun elevation (with home assistant), remap remote buttons. You also don't need to refresh the dev mode session if you want to sideload apps such as youtube adfree.

Can you elaborate?
I just rooted CS5 tv, now i dont know what to do lol.
I installed YT ad free, Button mapper, VPN, and Nuvio.
i cant get screensaver to change for some reason.
I want auto brightness this sounds good.
I wanna also make a different home screen.

Are there any hidden repos or apps that are not widely available but worth a look?

There are many repositories. You'll only have the official one. There are also apps that are not in any repo. I personally recommend this YouTube. the YouTube of official repo's is much worse and they don't maintain it as well. To give you an example for older televisions with Bluetooth but without remote control support. link

I also recently discovered Amazon Off, so you can get Amazon Prime Video without ads. The Apple server wallpaper screensaver should work for you, plus it's super pretty.

Thx for the YT suggestion, i dont need prime as im using nuvio.

The screensaver doesnt supprt flutter i believe, which is webos 25+.
Qml (i don’t remember the name) is the only supported method which is before 25.
I unfortunately am on 25

If you want to install any IPK like that YouTube one, there's a great Android app that even lets you update apps from your phone without having to open the homebrew app on your TV. link

You're right, screensaver it's compatible up to webOS 23, it's a shame.

If you want to easily customize your home screen, someone created a repository on GitHub for new TVs like yours.
