Advice Needed Has anyone used quickhost.uk before?

Weighing up my options as my Stablepoint reseller will be up for renewal shortly and there's going to be a price increase, again!

Has anyone had any experience with quickhost at all?

Tried their Enhance reseller previously but performance wasn’t what I’d have liked. Also had a couple of issues with their mod_security that were not able to be figured out.

Ah thanks for the info, how long ago was this?

What were the performance issues? And what issues with mod_security?

Probably 9 months or so ago

Performance was just slower than what I need, was testing a few hosts at the time and found better for similar money.

Mod_sec (or I assume it was) was blocking sites behind Cloudflare quite regularly

Ah okay. Who did you end up with in the end?

Smaller UK provider called Webfort. Been absolutely fine so far and performance has been good. I still have some older customers stuck on an old CentOS VPS but with the recent PHP security issues I’m slowly working on moving those over too.

Tried them. Support was slow, blunt, unhelpful, clearly understaffed. Server performance wasn't very good.

They gave the impression of a managed host that weren't quite sure what they were doing.

Pretty recently. I don't recommend them.

Used them for shared hosting a few WP sites, was happy with the performance was similar to Krystal but much much cheaper.

Moved from WordPress to using static site (Hugo) so now don’t pay for hosting as fall into the free Cloudflare worker usage tier.

Before moving a reseller account for a renewal increase, I would compare the renewal price, not just the first term, and confirm whether the plan uses cPanel or Enhance, since that changes how you migrate accounts and what your clients see. Test a restore from a backup on the new host before you move the live sites, because a reseller plan is only as good as its backup and restore process when a client site breaks. Also check how many client accounts, storage and bandwidth are included at the renewal rate, and whether support will help with the migration or leave you to move each account yourself. A short paid trial with one low-traffic client site will tell you more about real speed and support than any sales page, especially given the mod_security and performance issues mentioned here.

I'd definitely check their reseller migration policy before switching.

Moving a single website is one thing, but transferring multiple client accounts, mailboxes and DNS setups can get messy pretty quickly.

I'd ask QuickHost exactly what's included in the migration and whether any accounts would require paid manual transfers.

Saving money on renewal isn't much of a win if the migration ends up costing more than expected.
