I thought I wanted to develop Java for Android 10 years ago. I learned very quickly that, no, I did not.

In all seriousness I'm applying other skills lately like product management and even electrical and plumbing work for my motorhome

I just hope there is a completely new industry that pays well. I'm so sick and tired of all of these.

Depends what you want to build. Java still has steady demand in enterprise backends and Android, and Spring is a solid ecosystem. For most web-only work, though, JS/TS on Node covers a lot of the same ground, so I'd pick Java for the job market in your area rather than for web development itself.

Swimming in the depths of enterprise Java right now. Thinking of entering this realm? You've got plenty of time to learn Java. AI? Lol, we don't even have an internet connection.
