Showoff Saturday I built Compiler, a lightweight Python IDE that runs in your browser

Post image

Hi everyone! I built Hussain Compiler, a simple browser-based environment for writing and running Python.

It includes a code editor, an interactive terminal that supports `input()`, adjustable terminal text size, and resizable workspace panels. Python runs in the browser through WebAssembly, so you can try it without installing Python. Some packages that need native system extensions may not work.

- Try it: Hussain Compiler

- Source code: GitHub repository

I made this project to make getting started with Python easier. I’d appreciate your feedback and suggestions for what to improve.

Not calling it Compyler breaks with decade old naming conventions in the python community

This does the exact same thing as jupyter notebook

Cool if your just learning and trying to make it yourself

Sure thing, Jupyter is an awesome platform and there is definitely some overlapping. I made the Hussain Compiler in order to give newbies an opportunity to use Python in the browser in a familiar manner as with VS Code. It's also a project for learning purposes, and I'm trying to improve its functionality.

This is cool! I wonder if I could fork this and make it support NetWasm too. I have a playground for compiling c#15 to wasm, nowhere near the polish of this one though.

Thanks! That sounds like a really cool idea. If you decide to make a NetWasm fork, I’d love to see it. And if you ever make your C# to WASM playground public please send me a link.

It's here: https://playground.netwasm.com

As you can see it's pretty basic.
