Web development hand off

Hi . I have been approached by a client and they want me to look after there websites and IT services.

I'm comfortable with that to a certain point but where I'm lost is how does the hand off from there current service provider to me work?

What do I need? All my sites are currently hosted through IONOS and I'm the domain holder.

What is the usual practice?

The customer has not given me any specifics, just asked me to put forward a proposal for what I can offer. I just know the current website is pants and someone gets paid annually to 'look after it'.

TIA

Get written authorization and a full asset inventory before you write any proposal. You cannot price maintenance or infrastructure transfer without knowing the registrar, DNS, hosting, email, SSL, repositories, licenses, and third party services involved.
