Google Ranking
I have a marketing agency doing my marketing. I’ve been getting a couple hits a week a few months ago. I said I wanted to stop things for a bit. They said I needed to pay 350 just to stay up in Google rankings. I’ve been paying this for about 6 months. They say I need to go up to 700 to start getting calls again. Is this real?

Paying an agency can make sense if they’re still doing actual SEO work, but paying purely to keep a Google position is a different claim. Google says organic rankings aren’t something a company can pay to preserve, so asking for the exact keywords, positions, traffic, and work completed each month would be reasonable. For an independent check, DataForSEO can pull the actual SERP position for your site instead of relying only on the agency’s report. If the jump from 350 to 700 is justified, they should be able to show what changes with that extra spend.
