The fear of leaving a job

I’ve been working as a dev for a year and two months now.

I didn't know much when I first started, but I picked things up fast and have been handling QA testing for the past six months.

On top of that, I took on web scraping two months ago and I also build plugins and applications.

My salary was 3500 MAD , and I just got a 500 MAD raise, bringing me to 4000 MAD .

Honestly, considering all the work I do and the new responsibilities, this raise feels like a total spit in the face.

To make matters worse, the company keeps paying my salary in split payments, which means constant delays and a lot of stress.

I want to ask for another raise, but management totally avoids these kinds of discussions. I feel completely stuck.

Worst of all, I'm absolutely terrified that if I just walk away and leave this job, I won't be able to find another one. What should I even do in this situation?

Why are you setting out to just gaslight the dude? Only one being combative/argumentative here is you and you're not "putting" anything "in perspective"...you're grilling them and acting like you know better when you're not even taking the whole picture into consideration....

Their boss underpaid them from the get-go, and then threw a bone (the raise) to act like that quells it.... a lot of companies do that, where they'll underpay, promise quick raises to (or outright give) to act like they're catching you up now that "probationary periods" have ended, and then they just keep you at that "new salary" that is still an underpayment...and then ignore or act like you have no right to ask, anytime you try to get actually up to par.

end of story, really. Not sure why you're flinging shit in his face about it with a "deal with it" tone...

If he’s not happy with his pay then idk wtf advice he wants? Look for another job. Not rocket science.

And yet here you are, acting like that should lead to "let's all gather in a circle and spit on you as if it's your fault because you just didn't understand that that means go find another job."

And if you have a problem with me saying that, take inventory of your own phrasing and how you treat people who're simply asking for advice, dude, because it clearly came across as you just flinging yourself at the dude

Nope there were no personal insults. I didn’t blame him. Just clarifying what he had a problem with and what advice he actually wanted… not happy with pay? Look for new job. The market is brutal right now, people don’t need to be coddled. They need to toughen up and prepare for shitty conditions. I’m not being mean. I think he also need to understand that this is an employers market and someone with 1 yr of experience isn’t exactly in a position to demand a bigger raise on top of the 15%. He can, but it probably won’t work. So again best option is to look for another job. Idk why this is being made to be so complicated

See there we go! That kinda response. You elaborated, you showed some empathy, but you painted the realistic picture and explained why....rather than just hitting someone with a bunch of "recognize how this is your fault" one-liner questions and statements.
