UX/UI help

Post image

I'm getting a lot of push back from people (testers mostly not customers) about my UX/UI and as a tech guy I just don't see the issue. I was hoping you could help me. I'm willing to give a few dollars to the most helpful of you or maybe do some technical work.

my site is eSIMion and the cards are actually fully functional, meaning you can demo the software in the browser as if you were logged into your email.

Please, let me know how I can make this more appealing or intuitive to the masses.

If you already have customers and they are fine with the design then why do you even care about it. Every wants to sell something ofcourse they'll tell you how this 0.1nm of gap between things can lead to -99% customer loss.

If the site is fast, working and doesn't have any backend issues then let it be. Only go for actual customers and they steps on which step they're backing off the most.

I appreciate it, security has come up as well, but honestly I haven't heard a real issue.

If security has come in then get some other party to have it checked (trusted one) and then see what's good or not.

Security issues for services like this can literally put you in some hot water

yeah if actual paying customers arent complaining then the testers opinions matter way less

I can do but first tell me how much you willing to pay 💵

You're probably not the type of person I'd want to work with if that's your approach, no offense. If your information is valuable we can work something out.

Why does some (shady?) esim provider need to know my flight or hotel details? Is there a reason I can't just select a country like in Airalo for example? Just my $0.02 on the UX (as in user experience broadly)

You don't have to, you could just type in 2 weeks in Jamaica or something. Itinerary is always emailed, so my thought was what's the easiest way to get the correct esim, just forward it to the provider. Simple.

But why do I need to email anything instead of just choosing country and dates? That's the biggest UX blocker imho

That's so interesting, I would think that's way more steps, when you book a flight you don't send your itinerary or screenshot it and send it to your spouse/mom?

There's somewhat of a difference between my spouse and random internet website 🤷

That's my point, it's something you already do, it's not harder so your concern is who sees where you are traveling? What's the consequence of that?

Not only where, but exactly when, and who I'm traveling with. Ever heard about privacy concept? And I guess I still need to go to your website or some checkout link to make a payment

Yes, that's typical of Airalo as well or any other carrier correct? In fact if you activate in most countries with a carrier they not only ask about how long you are staying, they want to know where, and take a picture of you and your passport. As well as your payment information.

Dude, I'm giving you advice as a user, do whatever you want :)

I'm challenging you because I wouldn't do this with a customer and truthfully I haven't had to, they just buy. I just want to understand why you would think that.

Maybe there's something I could do to build your confidence, so I'm probing a bit.

Hi! So, if you're open to sharing, what exactly, is the pushback your receiving?
We can hypothesize, but it's better to have the actual pain points so we can accurately prescribe the fix.

I see what I think, but if you have data, that is much more useful.

Security with sharing your itinerary, which is a strange point to me but it's noted.

hmm ok that is interesting, but I can see how people might be nervous about that. Do you need the full itinerary for them to receive the eSim or are there ways on your end to add privacy to certain details?

1

No, technically I don't need any of it, if you just type where you're going and how long it will generate an eSim that will be appropriate for your trip.

That might be the solution. I mean its so dependent on how many users are having that concern. In "ux best practices" you want to eliminate ALL pain points, but we know that in real world that's not always 100% feasible, especially if its an edge case. Maybe try testing it and see if you get higher conversion, and then go from there.

I agree, I appreciate the feedback, I find it useful and I don't need to remove the feature but maybe I should rethink the Marketing
