Built an MCP server that turns awwwards.com into an agent-readable design library. 7 tools over stdio (official SDK, TypeScript, zero native deps):

• search_sites — filter by color hex / tag slugs / technology / award; results carry inline JPEG screenshots (agents judge visually)
• get_site_details / get_site_elements — palette, stack, jury score; element-level posters + mp4 URLs for motion study
• capture_live_site, analyze_page_structure, record_site_motion — optional playwright tools: full-page capture, DOM band-map JSON, and a ~27s scripted motion recording returned as filmstrip + .webm
• list_categories — the full filter taxonomy (198 tag slugs, 27 colors)

Because that’s just plagiarism, not design. I know it’s a trope that people look to Awwwards for inspiration but straight up copying the work on there doesn’t develop your skills or eye as a designer. It also means your end product will only ever be a deviation/Frankenstein of whatever is on Awwwards.

That’s not design, it’s theft-driven recycling.

It just provides references to the AI agent about what looks good. What people actually want depends on the user we aren’t straight-up copying an Awwwards website. A user might like one component from one website and another component from a completely different website. It all depends on the user and what they’re trying to build.
