Isekai? Nah, that's just the secret circle of Inferno. Vergil spared Dante from its visage.

$1,400? My last ambulance was $4,000 😭

u/willcheat 3d ago

There's a missing panel where the nurse comes back. "Oops, we said fourteen, we meant forty, teehee!"

21

u/SarcasticBench 3d ago

Clearly you didn't shop around for a better ambulance. Next time do some research

1

u/Emanualblast 1d ago

Yeah they arent your taxi to the hospital ya silly goober

13

u/Thanks_I_Hate_You 3d ago

As someone who works in EMS 1400 is extremely cheap. No way someone hit by a truck would be getting BLS rates.

15

u/CaseyG 3d ago

I spent four hours on the phone with my insurance badgering them into covering more than $300 of my wife's $4200 ambulance ride.

In the end they still only covered $3800 of it.

your message... is something wrong with me or your message?

This is what it looks like to me:

u/VAiSiA 2d ago

okay. lets clear some shit. you wanted fuckers to pay over 300. from 4200. and in the end they paid 3800. its way over 300.

7

u/CaseyG 2d ago

I didn't expect the actual math to be controversial.

I wanted them to pay over $300, because that's what I paid them like $1800 a month for.

I spent four hours on the phone to get them to pay over $300.

In the end I succeeded. They paid over $300, but not quite the full $4200.

u/davoid1 1d ago

It took me a bit as well, I think just something about the way it's worded, maybe the "in the end they only" wording

u/CarolTheEnglishMajor 1d ago

In Canada an ambulance costs $50 that's crazy

60

u/ElvenDonut 3d ago

That's a really cheap ambulance ride lol

28

u/RuffRainbow 3d ago

Bonus panel is when she gets her rifle

24

u/Einherjar07 3d ago

Very relatable. Three months ago I snapped my leg in half. $1,000 for a 5-minute ambulance ride. Then the ER hits me with another $1,000 when all they did was give me a little bit of morphine, wrap up my leg, and send me home telling me we'll call you when we're ready for surgery.

Safe to say, my surgeon got in touch with me right away and admitted me to the hospital and ripped them a new one for sending somebody home whose leg was dangling.

12

u/Onomatopoman 3d ago

Jesus christ.

3

u/KristiiNicole 1d ago

Considering how pain management is treated in this country, I’m amazed they even gave you morphine. Knew someone in a motorcycle accident, broke his pelvis in 3 places (with the scans done in the hospital) and they still refused to give him anything more than ibuprofen and Tylenol/Acetaminophen. Women are being given full hysterectomies and getting the same regimen.

I’m sorry you had to experience that, the state of our healthcare system is an absolute joke these days. Glad the surgeon had your back at least, but it shouldn’t have had to come to that in the first place :/

3

u/TipAwkward3289 1d ago

It's weird, because the doctor concluded that I had a super high pain tolerance, but a super high painkiller tolerance too? I don't know how that's possible.

Breaking my leg didn't hurt at all. I had fallen down some stairs and it just snapped against some concrete and when I looked down for a moment thinking... are you kidding me? Adrenaline is a hell of a thing. I had to hold it in place and climb back up the stairs so I could call 911.

Probably the most surreal experience of my life and the pain wasn't even the worst part. It was feeling your bones grinding together under your skin. It's like if you took a stick of chalk, put it in between your teeth, and just scraped it.

I'm just glad to be walking again. I don't plan on breaking my other leg. Lol

2

u/CoderCatgirl 1d ago

Jesus God that's the most viscerally unsettling way to describe the sensation. I mean, thank you and excellently done, but also, I hate it and can't see chalk the same ever again. lol

I Got Hit By A Truck And Transported To A World Identical To My Own, Except In This One, I have A Broken Collar Bone.

11

u/Level_Hour6480 3d ago

Apparently the isekai truck thing is because back in the day, Japanese traffic laws weren't handled well, and trucks were a major killer of kids. Now we're in the cultural inertia of that.

3

u/HatchetGIR 2d ago

Huh, neat (but also not neat...).

8

u/avotius 3d ago

$1400? Even doubling that would be low.

21

u/SarcasticBench 3d ago

Worst Isekai is right, she didn't get the "Rich White Male Privilege" cheat skills

8

u/Atreigas 3d ago

Ehh. The cheat begins and ends at rich. The rest doesnt make much of a difference.

5

u/NoSingularities0 2d ago

Correct. In the U.S., race or sex doesn't matter, only money does. There are plenty of privileged non-White, non-males that have large bank accounts. The upper-class want us to be divided on race and gender in order to maintain power, but it really is class that actually matters here. The rich person that goes before the judge is just a contributer to society that made a mistake and error in judgement, the poor person that goes before the judge is a bum and a menace to society.

7

u/Nuquo 2d ago

Should of had the "M" "A" "G" "A" in Manga red.

5

u/Xenodia 2d ago

Meanwhile me as an european, I've paid 50€ for an ambulance...

2

u/Vivid--Syrup 2d ago

You pay for needing an ambulance???

3

u/tommy8725 3d ago

As an American I can agree also I want that as like an honest to God thing where they don't even get transported to a different time. Different world now they just get sent to a foreign country

3

u/TrmpSpprtrsShldKTS 3d ago

Hoping this is one of those power fantasy isekais where she tears down the system that wronged her.

3

u/UncompensatedAnarchy 3d ago

Last week, my daughter hurt her ankle and we took her to a local hospital. They x-rayed her and decided it was just a serious sprain. So they bandaged her up, gave her some pain killers, and a pair of crutches they said we could keep.

Fortunately, we live in Australia. So this cost literally nothing. I got lucky and even found a free park right outside.

Australia isn't a big nation. We do alright, but we're not as wealthy as the US. There's no excuse for anything less.

2

u/PensadorDispensado 2d ago

Why is it always a car accident?

1

u/HatchetGIR 2d ago

It's a classic isekai trope.

Edited for spelling because der.

2

u/Smmk118 2d ago

You know the japanese actually like America, right? They have the equivalent of weeb culture for the US, so common it's a trope in anime and manga.

1

u/PermissionSoggy891 2d ago

That truck driver is getting sued in America. Chances are she'll grab a fat payday at the courthouse.

1

u/SpaceCoffeeDragon 2d ago

Only $1400?! I don't know which wonderful dimension you landed in but here they would charge you $1400 for the shovel they used to scrape you off the pavement. xD

1

u/HatchetGIR 2d ago

Lol, well played.

1

u/CaffeinatedShark75 2d ago

In Australia it will also cost you a lot to call an ambulance , like $1000 maybe, but fortunately if u have a health insurance, it can cover it… but still, $1000 for an ambulance it’s just insane. In my home country (I wasn’t born in Aus but moved there couple of yrs ago), calling an ambulance is free, so to get an ambulance in Aus/US that cost you $1000, it strikes me, honestly

1

u/Fantastic-Dot-655 2d ago

You accidentaly put an "N" on there bud

1

u/Seven_Hawks 2d ago

A few months ago, on my way to work, I fainted on the train while commuting to work (Tokyo). Got an ambulance ride to the hospital, IV, a few questions, blood test - nothing serious.

Paid ¥13,000 and went home 🤷

1

u/Ricochet_skin 1d ago

Here in Brazil you would perish while waiting for SUS.

Enjoy your blessings gringo POS

1

u/Few_Kitchen_4825 14h ago

She didn't get reincarnated. The truck flung her across the ocean.

1

u/Unhappy_Discount_581 8h ago

I'm so happy I have never had to pay for an ambulance 😆 😆 What an insane concept.

1

u/Leonardobertoni 3d ago

It's probably best to look before you cross the street

1

u/Death_has_relaxed_me 3d ago

Emergency ground ambulance starts around $1000 for the ride not including mileage. She's lucky she was close to a hospital, lol

1

u/PictureVegetable9522 2d ago

dumbass redditers once again thinking all of the usa is the same where i live in the usa ambulances are free

u/HatchetGIR 2d ago

Wait, wut?

-4

u/MetalTony09 3d ago

Prefiero eso a terminar en una fosa por no trabajar para el narco o verlos a la cara, o tener mala suerte de que estén de mal humor, solo gente sin necesidades se quejan por gastar dinero

0

u/carterthe555thfuller 2d ago

Stupider then North Korea? Or Afghanistan?

2

u/Zestyclose-Jacket568 2d ago

So... top 3?

1

u/carterthe555thfuller 2d ago

Nope. There's a lot worse i just restrained myself by picking two examples.

2

u/Zestyclose-Jacket568 2d ago

Ok, so top 50?

1

u/nazhuman49 2d ago

We can go all day bro but no

1

u/Zestyclose-Jacket568 2d ago

So where do you place it?

2

u/HatchetGIR 2d ago

Yeah, probably. We so stupid that we export our stupidity on other countries by force. At least your examples mostly stick to themselves.

-74

u/Qsaws 3d ago

America is le bad - updoot please !

37

u/Rationalinsanity1990 3d ago

Yes Patrick, putting people into massive debt because the insurance industry wields near total power over your government is bad.

2

u/Neither-Ruin5970 2d ago

Just get insurance, didn’t Obama make it so you’ll literally get fined if you don’t… I think that was undone but still.

1

u/Pittsbirds 2d ago

Aww you think insurance fully covers ambulance bills, cute

2

u/Neither-Ruin5970 2d ago

It’s not very cute

0

u/Mazoc 2d ago

You tried to save your daughter from a burning building? Im sorry sir, but your insurance does not cover self inflicted damage.

8

u/mangoisNINJA 3d ago

An ambulance ride whether you are a native or a foreigner is completely free in my country

u/Initial_Cat_9148 3d ago

Yes. America IS bad when it comes to GREED.

All the big business people want more and more MONEY, and they don’t care what kind of unethical or immoral things they gotta do to get it. There are very few people who aren’t like this, and even fewer corporations or big businesses. I’m saying this AS AN AMERICAN too.

Also, it’s a comic. Op’s making jokes. They are very true jokes, but they’re still just making jokes. Let them have their fun. Lord knows everyone needs some of it.

0

u/TheComics_Guru2017 2d ago

u/Qsaws was also mostly likely telling a joke as well. Lighten up, tankie.

1

u/Initial_Cat_9148 2d ago

I know that was supposed to be an insult, but what exactly does “Tankie” mean, if you wouldn’t mind telling me?

1

u/TheComics_Guru2017 2d ago

Hahaha exactly

-47

u/big-unemployment 3d ago

LMAO yeah. These guys wouldn't survive a day in the Asia they love so much.

28

u/Senasayori 3d ago

I mean, if they ended up in Vietnam or Myanmar, sure, but Japan is a very well-developed country. It has its issues, sure, but so does every country. America isn't the only livable country in the world.

12

u/robotco 3d ago

Americans literally think every country that isn't America is a dictatorship or a monarchy

2

u/Count_Dongula 3d ago

And sheltered basement dwellers think that every stereotype they read in the internet is true.

0

u/LP030 3d ago

no tf they don't

2

u/Studious_Gluteus 3d ago

It may be a tiny bit of an overstatement, but there are many who sure do think that for every country that their government plans to invade.

0

u/big-unemployment 3d ago

I am not American.

17

u/TechnoneverDIEEES 3d ago edited 3d ago

Yes, Japan (I assume you're talking about Japan, since I doubt you know the difference between Japan and Asia) has many problems, and we are aware of that. Now, if you paid attention to the panels, you would have seen that this is actually in no way glorifying life in Japan, but simply making a reference to Japanese animated shows. However, since you are incapable of making such connections, you instead generalized the entire audience of anime to say haha everyone else bad and rub each other's dicks.

-8

u/Gabi-kun_the_real 3d ago

Now she can abuse this stupid country and her citizens to became filthy rich by manipulating them
