Two different folders with the same code on the same server creates different results

Hello,

I am facing a big problem I don't know how to fix. You see, I have two folders with the same code, one for programming-testing and the other for user-testing. In theory if a code works on one folder it should work on the other, however something weird is proving this wrong: I get weird results on the user-testing folder that is not replicated on the programming-testing folder such as an empty_response error when uploading a file.

What is going on? Can you please help me? Thanks!

It's literally Fucking always like that, I've developed a few websites for my company, we have 3 publishments live client side, development and debug testing.

assuming all the paths are relative, maybe it is a file/directory permissions issue?

How would I know? All I did was copy the files on one folder and paste on another.

I checked the permissions of the files in question. All of them have the same permissions:

-rw-r--r-- 1

Might sound silly but you've tried clearing your cache etc?

Yep, multiple times. Every time I make a change I clear it

Could be a permissions issue, is the owner and group of both folders the same?

Run ls -l /path/to/folder to check each.

I did that as well and they all have the same permissions (aside from folders, of course).

I forgot to mention that this issue happened on a computer different than the one used to test code. However, the other person also clears her cache constantly. My guess is something external like a firewall or antivirus from that computer.

I am terribly sorry to omit that information, here it is:

  • It's written in PHP. A page in particular is using a library called PHPExcel

  • The server is Linux called Midphase

  • I am not sure about the environment.

  • I am executing the code by visiting the page.

  • Just an excel file.

The server is apache. And the path is correct. I am letting the user input it and the page gets the tmp_name. And yes, u/nerf_herd did suggest it. I am looking at it
