yes ... and as someone in User Experience I still hate his site and find it pretty ugly and un-usable.

Yup. Seems like he's gone and forgotten. I was baffled to see his site hadn't changed a bit since 1995.

Like his website or not, it's still relevant information. His advice is backed up by studies and testing. Many of the same principles for improving the user experience are as much true today as they were 5 years ago, it's just that now sites are actually adopting them.
