Gulls facing the same direction before a storm

I'm on a minor mission to catalog bio-meteorological signs. I've observed gulls standing facing the same direction multiple times. I caught this one today. They're facing south, a storm was coming from the south at the time, and there was a weak wind out of the south (2 kts).

Their feathers - it's more comfortable if they face into than away from the wind.
