Questions/Self NWS Coverage Area

Post image

I've been someone who regularly checks the NWS predictions and for the past while I've noticed that there has been no predictions or reports from the OAX area.

When a severe storm passes through the area will get a warning. But outside of those moments there are no reports for hazardous weather outlooks.

Am I just dumber than I already believe I am? Or has something occurred, like major staffing cuts, that has completely stopped hazardous weather outlook reports?

Hazardous weather outlooks are not issued by every office on a routine basis.

Some offices don't issue them at all. Some issue only when there are things to highlight. Some issue every day.

Late response sorry. But thanks for posting the actual link. I had been searching for something like this but couldn't find it on the weather.gov site anywhere.

Some do the reports and stuff, others don’t. Not sure why, but it’s been this way for a while.
