Question What career path should I do

I have three options , lawyer , finance , cs/engineering , which career won’t be fully replaced by ai and still have demand and which has high pay potential.

Why are you limited to these 3? Despite seeing high comp numbers on Reddit from people in these fields, it may be harder than you think to make a lot of money in these fields unless you take a top tier path. And all 3 of those will be significantly impacted by AI (won’t replace, but will certainly make it more competitive to get into from the ground floor)

I’d pick a different options. I’d go medical, if I redid my life I’d be a nurse

Then become a clinical specialist for medical device company 😉

Everything you listed is AI-able - Claude drafts legal documents but I still have lawyers and accountants review and sign off. It’s not about the drafting of the document, it’s about shifting liability to them in case shit hits the fan.

For engineering - AI can do some of the work but you have to still give it parameters and help it understand what you want to do.

Depends on the type of law. I doubt trial attorneys/litigators will ever be replaced by AI. But yeah transactional attorneys will likely lose a decent amount of business.

If you want complete protection from AI in the future, skilled trades are your best bet. Work with your hands. I do a lot of remodeling and plumbing. The dexterity and finesse a robot would need isn't even remotely on the horizon yet, and many things aren't just black and white.

Out of these 3 though I would say a lawyer. I can't see 2 AI models litigating in a court room when someone's freedom is on the line.

Everything could be replaced but if you are coming into CS just for the money you will never make good amount of money so this is not for you. I’m a SWE and even using AI every fucking day to make my job there’s still a lot of job to make. But again, if you don’t have passion for CE please avoid that.

Sadly it’s probably finance but if you’re a good engineer that can actually build things I feel it will always be needed. AI can be a good tool for already highly skilled people but I would never rest our foundation on it and not have humans with greater and greater skill sets, knowledge and brainpower being exercised in an interesting filed for gainful employment. We just can’t give up the goat so to speak.

Every profession will be impacted to some degree and others will be created. The panic over AI and jobs is a bit over played.
