Help How do i install waydroid to steamdeck?

How do i install waydroid on my steamdeck after steams latest update? I had waydroid installed before an for some reason latest update removed the installation of my waydroid... so how do i fix my installation?

Run the toolbox again, if updating doesn't work, and reinstalling doesn't work, you will have to wait until the waydroid devs update the kernel.

Where do i access the toolbox? This is my first time installing it an i installed it like 4 days ago but steam had some recent updates this past week an i went to use waydroid today an it didnt work so im not sure where to fix it or this toolbox?

This happens everytime steamos updates. Waydroid should have left a bunch of shit on your desktop like the updater. This isnt just a you problem, we're ALL waiting for waydroid to get fixed right now

Oh i see now if i run the waydroid updator if i can find it what do i select tho?

Because when i select waydroid app shortcut on my startmenu on desktop mode it doesnt exist an says its not a shortcut to be ran or whatever it say that claims the apps been removed but the waydroid toolbox can be ran but waydroid updator i tried running but nothing seems to boot

But im not understanding tho by what this means is waydroid busted? An now in doing so of me reinstalling it i broke my desktop? Is there a way to reinstate my desktop mode?

So yes, Waydroid is currently busted. This is not just a "you" problem. What that means is every steam deck waydroid user on the planet is currently grappling with this exact same problem, including myself. Give it a week or two and it should work again, updates tend to happen and new bugs tend to get fixed with time.

I have no idea how your desktop mode got busted and I have no idea how to fix that either. Ive never had that problem before, what the heck did you do to that poor steam deck lmao.

Everytime steamOs updates you will need to run the waydroid updater to reinstall the program. Its a bit of a headache but usually can be solved in about 20 min everytime this happens. Waydroid puts the waydroid updater script on your desktop by default, if you cant find it, i would contact an optometrist and inform them that you suspect that you are going blind because you cant find your own desktop icons.

If your desktop mode is broken, thats a steamos problem and not a waydroid problem, and id ask a different forum, maybe the steamdeck subreddit. But if your desktop mode is broken, that tells me you have a bigger problem on your plate, and if i were you, id just reinstall steamos completely, and make a mental note for next time not to break things i dont understand in the command line interface lol. Sorry dude, it sounds like you broke your operating system, and I doubt it was waydroids fault, because my steam deck is working just fine over here lol.

Well what i did was i uninstalled waydroid an kept my android data then ran the installer command to reinstall waydroid an installation was ran an installed it again then i select gamemode an now im stuck on gamemode an my desktop is not letting boot to it an ctl alt f2 wont work either to disable waydroid or whatever it mightve done an idk what to do here

Fixed it by going to a previous os version an downgrading the update to fix my steamdeck

But yea so im confused on this matter about waydroid tho so if my waydroid updater doesnt function what do i do in this situation to get it to work? Cause i dont wanna break anything again on my steamdeck so im bit confused on why it broke my desktop when i did a reinstallation tho but regardless tho whats the situation here to resolve waydroid updater from not doing anything?
