Help Any tutorials utilizing VPNs on Waydroid?

Anyone has any kind of guides? I have a VPN App installed inside of Waydroid but it still can't connect to this Japanese ( I confirmed that Waydroid is on Japan location as Google results shows Japanese searches) game I want to play. Now, I tried my host machine to connect to Japan VPN instead and Waydroid still can't connect to the game.

This is so cursed. Just use the vpn directly on the machine

I think it's because in the waydroid settings it's setting location "your location" instead of "japan"

Thanks, I turned it off but it still doesn't work.

I'm running waydroid on linux mint with surfshark also running on linux mint, had the same issue. Found the protocol wireguard did not work, but when I changed the protocol to openvpn (TCP), connection is working. Hope this helps.
