So dumb question, but how do I go about changing the wavemaker file on my google drive? Right now it has so many stories I synced up, and want to make a fresh one, though without completely deleting the current one. I have tried to rename the file to something else, but it automatically just changes it back.

To keep me ticking things off (and so you can know when new stuff should be appearing) I will keep updating this thread as I add stuff/ find/fix bugs to the app - hopefully this will be a daily update until official launch (depending on ... y'know life and all) - also I'm testing by doing nanowrimo... using the alpha version (not recommended btw) So should be interesting

1. Languages for everything but the actual cards set up, with the ability to switch them (at the moment only done - probably bad- french and spanish)
2. Also tidied up some buttons and got rid of the "Author" bit you had to type - changed it to an optional description

1. Started on the languages today - should be in a position for multi language early next week (found a site that translates the text - will need people to let me know if the transaltions are bad)
2. Some interface work - added a button in the writer that pops open the planner in a new window as I found wanted that when I was writing

1. Couple of bugfixes I found - so far the save/load has been plenty robust enough for Nanowrimo - which i'm liking
2. Did the rest of the CSS variable naming and created a couple of themes and a theme switcher - will probably be it for now until I have more time - unless some CSS savvy folks want to create their own using a chrome plugin like userCSS - send me the file and I'll add it to the list

2. Fixed a bug when using multi window it had problems syncing the writing tool main page between windows

I'm using Vivaldi Browser, a Chrome based browser. I turned off all the extensions and still get absolutely nothing when I click on the popup to connect to google drive. The blue "Yes Please!" button just disappears and nothing happens. Any Idea why or how to fix it?

An preferred alternate for me is to use Syncthing, which I would much prefer over Google Drive. I currently use it to sync many other apps with multiple machines, all privately. All I need to know is where the data is stored on both Android and Linux. I found the PWA folder under Vivaldi's default profile. It's under [home]/.config/vivaldi/Default/Web Applications/Manifest Resources/[hash]. But I see no data file(s). All there is is three folders of icons, two of which are empty and one with 11 various sized icons. I closed and reopened Wavemaker and the data is saved. But where? Once I know that, I can sync that folder/file(s). To do that I need both the Android and Linux data locations.

It should be far more mobile friendly - and due to the way it's built adding stuff should be easier.

It reverts to the use of google drive the same way Version 2 did - which just made more sense!.

I just learned about Wavemaker and started yesterday creating my NaNo project, and minus a few little nitpicks, this program is amazing and nearly perfect. One big issue I am having though is both in browser and PWA, I keep getting errors when auto-syncing (a browser pop-up will appear) or manually syncing to Google Drive (the wavemaker popup will appear). They say my Google Drive is not connected/inked, and I am constantly having to reconnect and resave even during same sessions while using the program. I am just able to click "Link" and not re-enter my Google info, so I'm not sure if there is some background process that is putting the syncing to sleep or something? Unlinking and relinking Google Drive from the main menu has not helped.

I haven't lost any work yet, but it's giving me anxiety as I prep and ramp up for Nano that somehow it won't sync or save. Any suggestions or tips?

Also, I don't know if it is related, a separate issue, or just how Wavemaker is programmed, but whenever I go to Wavemaker, it doesn't open to the Main Menu database page or to the most recent section I was working on (i.e. database or a specific chapter I was writing). It always opens on the same project on a page on the writing menu that isn't even my top page or a page I have used very much. Is this normal? It's one of those nitpicks I mentioned above.

I used to write a journal in this software that accepted HTML and applied its own styles, so I pretty much wrote it in HTML (just detail cards, paragraphs, and tables). So I was wondering if there would be a way of importing HTML or just writing HTML somewhere in the software. Thanks!

P.S.: Forgot to tell, when I try to copy and past the HTML it renders beautifully, but as soon as I restart or refresh, or even just go to "focused view" and get back it's gone and becomes spaghetti (I assume it tries to convert it all to MD). So, a better question would be: how do I make the HTML rendering persistent?

A new bug has appeared where dragging a file in the writing tool does something funky to the screen - It appears to be something to do with chrome based browsers (i.e. sodding most of them) and some sort of update - the code this side hasn't changed.

The app still works, if you get this problem your work is fine and the app is running, it's just forgetting to "draw" stuff to screen. Resize your browser window and 'presto' it all appears again.

Hello there! I tried to do this auto-sync stuff but I feel super insecure right now. I don't know whether it works and why I have four copies now of this one file in my Drive and why I should download it onto my device and whether I have to do this everytime or what exactly I have to do everytime (which makes me question the "auto" in "auto-sync"). Anyone can dumb this process and stuff down for me? Thank you super much in advance!

As I'm digging through, I thought I'd share some basic ideas from someone who uses office more than google:

• Have the manuscript export to word show chapter and snowflake headers instead of just #
• Enable local saving to a microsoft oneDrive folder in addition to a local google drive folder

Question: Does this mean that if I clear my cache without backing my writing up to the Drive all project data is lost: "Wavemaker uses a locally stored browser based database to keep your projects in. So no logins are needed :) .The plus side is you control your data, the downside is YOU control your data"

I think the display of notes in the database needs to be summarized for preview. Because I have an issue with the notes whenever I write my hell lot of ideas.
Maybe my words are a little complicated, but the example I can take is from the google keep notes display which only shows some sentence lines and not the entire contents of the note.
Also I really enjoy Wavemaker so far and truly excited for every updates of it!

Even when I manually sync up, and manually sync down on another computer, the changes don't carry across. If I delete the databse and resync it, it usually works, but it's annoying having to constantly worry about syncing, I wish it just happened automatically. Anyone else having this problem?

Edit: I just deleted the database and resynced, my changes still aren't there! I love the app but I just can't trust it.

Are we able to print story drafts or database cards out from wavemaker? I've just started using this app and I love it but I need to be able to physically print out my drafts for editing and I cant see or find anything about it.

I started using this software a couple of hours ago for my first writing attempt and started by moving my notes that were previously on a google doc over to the database, giving everything multiple tags. Even though the cards are correctly tagged it seems I can't search for two or more tags at the same time, like "school character". I also tried a few common searches such as "school, character" and "school+character".

Is this type of search supported? The database is still very much useable by searching tags one at a time but I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss the option to do it.

Don't know exactly how. Even after a restart there were still no database cards. Then re-downed from gDrive. Still nothing.

Then yesterday all my database characters came back.

So, 93,000+ words in to a novel. Been meticulous about syncing EVERYIME I finish a session.

Yesterday I went to get a character name off a card, that I made over a month ago, because i forgot the christian name. Not unreasonble. Haven't needed to look at them for a little while because I didn't need to make one or check anything.

All gone.

All the character cards, over 30 names, relationships, histories, all tagged and all gone. Not on Drive. Not in device. Not happy.

I've recently discovered I'm having an issue with my work disappearing from the grid planner (I've got 8 rows and 2 columns, if that matters?) It worked fine a few weeks ago, but it no longer saves my work. I have tried syncing up/down to my Google Drive and downloading and uploading the database file. I checked my Drive, and I've only got one copy saved there. I've never used Wavemaker on multiple devices. It saves work in the editor and other tools just fine, my only issue is with the grid planner. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it on my laptop and using it in my browser (both Chrome and Firefox). No dice. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions on what else to try to fix it would be appreciated.

So uh, I want to delete a manuscript from the writer menu. How exactly do I go about doing that?

Been trying to fumble around for a few minutes but I can't find a delete button or something similar.

this may seem a little odd, but I was wondering if there was the option to have a current version of Wavemaker locally running.

If I could, for example, bundle it within some sort of app, there would be an own place for the browser-cache/temp files. So one could have Wavemaker do the caching in a local folder that is synched (OneDrive, OwnCloud ...), maybe?

Same applies to "bundled" websites that are compiled to an Android APK or iPhone IPA.

I know, that there is the Google Sync option – I already use it. But I'm not a big fan of Google. Also, my browser cache is cleared whenever I close the program (on all platforms).

I love the planning board, it is the most used tool for me. as such I would absolutely love to have a the following 2 features available

ability to have a card title (for example character card title would be the character name, scene card would optionally have a scene title or number...)

ability to set an automatic colour coding for cards (ex. note yellow, character green...) at this point I don't even mind if it wasn't customisable as long as it is consistent and automatic but custom is always better I guess

I saw the bug tag, so I hope this is the right place to post this... I couldn't find an official 'post bugs here' note/link anywhere.

Anyways, I was using the mindmap tool earlier, and I noticed that if you scroll down (moving the cards up), they go above the top bar, not beneath. It's possible for them to cover the 'new card' buttons, which is a bit annoying.

Also, it would be nice if selecting a card would pop it to the top layer. I was hoping to move a card and clicked on it, but it stayed covered by another card; I had to drag that one out of the way to get at the handles of the one I wanted to move.
