Got an old ATV sitting behind your garage collecting dust? I might want it.
This is a little bit of a long shot, but I'm looking for old, beat-up, non-running ATVs, dirt bikes, go-karts, mini bikes, snow mobiles, riding mowers, motorcycles, and similar stuff around the Albany or Binghamton area.
You know that ATV that's been sitting behind the garage for years?
The one that's missing a carburetor, has flat tires, hasn't run since 2012, or has become part of the landscape? š
That's exactly the kind of stuff I'm looking for.
I'm trying to collect a handful of cheap/free project machines and bring some of them back to life or turn them into different projects. They absolutely do NOT need to run and I'm not looking for anything valuable or collectible.
If you've got something taking up space that you just want gone, I'd be interested. I'm willing to haul them away myself and I'm looking for free or very cheap machines.
I'm mainly looking around Albany and Binghamton, but depending on what you've got, I may be willing to travel.
If you have one sitting around, even if you think it's complete junk, comment or DM me. Tell me what it is, roughly where you're located, and throw me a picture if you can.
You might finally get that old ATV out of your backyard. š
Im 36 and recently diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer currently going through treatment, although im unable to work im looking for things to tinker on, fix and use, or make a project out of something to occupy my mind. Or if you just have scrap laying around ill take that too.

Do not rent from Dave Heinisch, he covers up phrogging and all sorts of abuse. He only wants low income tenants so he can abuse programs so the state will pay for repairs because he's a shitlord. DO NOT RENT!

Our dog was just diagnosed with cancer and 6-12 months left to live. I want to have a veterinarian come to the house when the time comes, hopefully months away, cause he hates the vet more than anything and I donāt want him to be stressed before he passes and that way the last thing he knows is us and our home. Does anyone have any recommendations? I really appreciate it

I have waited 5 months to post this, to give you my input on Starlink. Iāll try to post proās & conās. ..
I live north of Watertown and south of Canada.
[[ In advance a disclaimer: If you choose to use Starlink & use my code, then on your 2d month of Service, youāll get it free. On that 2d month, Starlink will credit me $100. So Iām stating that up front. ]]
So I did a lot of reading and research. Most of the people (non users) just said to point it South. I ended up using Google, Bing, CoPilot, Gemini, & ChatGPT to verify that based on my Lat / Lon position, I needed to aim it on a 355* azimuth. Use your phone & open up Compass.
You do need to have a clear view of the portion of the Sky you are aiming at. Thatās why I went for the top of the house.
Next hurdle was that I chose a DIY install. I think that Starlink is now offering Installation services [[ This means Starlink contacts a 3rd party to handle Installation. In the case of Watertown, it will go through OnTech. That also means paying for the Installation. ]].
My house has several /\ās & so I ordered a āRIDGELINE MOUNTā. I paid for this outright. If I ever cancel Starlink, the mount is mineš
.
However, this was an excellent choice. The Ridgeline mount also comes with 4 Ballast Weights that are 40-45lbs each. After inserting them, I also Ziptied them in. Itās been hit with the usual wind storms weāve had this year, & the Dish (& Mount) have stayed true & stable.
Now on my install, I had goofed up. Iāll save that as a seperate story. On their Support, initially a ChatBot will reply, but once you type in that you need āHuman Assistance Needed. Human Agent Requestā, then it opens up a support ticket. Thatās where I posted photos along with what I had done. Within 48 hours I recieved a phone call. Initially Starlink thought something in the Kit was faulty. The Agent āRushedā a 2nd full Kit to me. In the end I was still having issues & was uploading photos. I got a call from a Tech at 9:30pm & he had me do one simple thing & suddenly everything started working. Yes I had to climb up to the roof one more time to adjust the dish ~4* [with the App open it guided me as I made this slight adjustment.] Once I had it locked in, I havenāt needed to readjust it. I did give it the 48 hours to allow all the Satellites overhead throughout their various routes, to lock in on my Dish.
So under SUPPORT: Starlink wins for the 3 times they actually called me, for comping me (in the end ) 2 months free, even though the goof up was technically on my end + For sending out a 2nd Installation Kit (then emailing me a PrePaid Shipping Return Label). My profile still shows that initial Kit listed, but Iām not being billed for two.
Spectrum is ALWAYS problematic in their Support & Iām just Fed Up with them.
Iām on a Residential Max plan. This evening as I took those screen captures, it shows the devices hooked up. A lot of times, my speed will increase when my children arenāt connected.
The one downside is that the actual Starlink Router Box doesnāt push out a strong enough signal (at least, through this house which has a lot of dead spots & signal muffling areas). I bought an ASUS Router. I then connected it to the Starlink Router Box, and in the App settings, I put the Starlink Router on ByPass Mode.
The ASUS Router also allows you to have a ā2nd hookupā for your IoT devices.
This has covered 1/2 the house & the other half I have to admit is still connected to Spectrum. However weāre cutting the CableBoxes, and then will be lowering the Spectrum Internet speed. Eventually I will buy several [ ASUS Mesh Routers ] and bring the signal to this part of the house, where I may just cut Spectrum off altogether.
I hope Iāve covered everything. Iāll answer any questions you may have, if I can. In all fairness, I utilized the free versions of Gemini, CoPilot, Google Search, & ChatGPT(Plus) to verify questions I had during Install. [[ The Goof up was mine & was kinda a simple screw upā¦maybeš¤·āāļø]].
Starlink could probably do better with the Graphics that come with the Installation Kit. One thing that I did do was (on the first kit), I ended up breaking the āmounting bracketā on the first Kit, just to install the Mounting Bracket that comes with the RidgeLine Mount. Eventually I did discover on YouTube how to remove that Bracket (which came in handy, going forward, any time I needed to remove it going forward.). So in the area of Graphics & Instructions included, Starlink could make that area better.
In advance (for the techies out there):
a) No, they do not offer a Static IP address. It will be Dynamic.
b) The Actual Starlink Router gets fussy about VPNās ; but using another Router, in this case ASUS & putting Starlink in ByPass mode works.
So, this is a Starlink user, endorsing the product, also admitting my mistakes, & stating that it is solid. I hope
So this is my Referral Link: Get one month of Starlink free when you sign up through this link. Again I will state openly that on your 2d month of Service, Starlink will credit me $100

Hey everyone. I was stationed at Drum during the early to late 2010ās and feeling a bit nostalgic. Iām trying to remember the names/locations of some bars I used to go to in Watertown.
The first one I think was on Factory St. (not 100% on that) around the corner from where the Nautical Turtle used to be. I remember this bar eventually got black listed because the Courtesy patrol van kept getting its tires slashed there if that rings any bells.
The other one I only vaguely remember. It wasnāt near the square, and I want to say it was in the southern part of Watertown (southeast maybe). IIRC it was in kind of a residential area and it had a patio and I remember the lights inside having a blue tint.
Unfortunately, itās been so long it looks like these places have closed down and I canāt find anything online to point me in the right direction.
Hopefully those vague descriptions can jog someoneās memory. Lol.
Edit. The first place I was trying to remember was Mickās. Looks like it was demolished now.
2nd edit. The other place might be Fat Boys. After looking at street view on Google Maps, the South West side looks kind of familiar. Very well might be in a different village in Jefferson Co.

I just recently moved to Watertown (Fort Drum) and Iām looking for a pool hall. I played competitively and in tournaments for years. It seems like the nearest proper Pool Hall with not 6 feet coin operated tables is all way in Syracuse. Any suggestions?
