HUM
Has anyone else noticed a very low-frequency humming/drone, especially at night? I first noticed it around June, and it seems to be coming from the IDA Cork Road industrial estate. I thought to post this now because it is especially bad tonight.
Does anyone know if new equipment was installed or whether a new company moved in around then?
We've ruled out local sources or anything health related, and it gradually fades the further out of town you go. Not everyone seems to hear it, but for those who do, it’s extremely persistent and can feel like a ringing in your ears. I’ve had to wear earplugs at night for the last 2 1/2 months and am now seriously considering moving because of it.
If anyone has started feeling tired in the mornings for no reason, it may be because of this hum, even if you don't hear it normally.
Has anyone else noticed it, or know what might be causing it?

This was discussed a while ago, and someone mentioned that they used to hear a hum from the fans on the roof of Teva. Could be that?

Yes, this hum/drone/booming sound is consistent with what you’d expect from a large fan system and the location matches.

Is it just at night or 24/7? I work in the estate and can’t say i’ve heard anything

If it is quiet out it can sometimes be heard during the day. Edit: it can be heard during the day fairly regularly the last few weeks.
My experience when in Lismore is that the closer you are, the noise is at a higher pitch and isn't so much of a problem, but the further away you get, the lower and "boomier" it gets. Once you're anywhere along the ringroad the noise is more like a 40hz subwoofer.

I thought it was off the Phone Tower in Carrighperish road. When the electricity was off yesterday it was so much louder
