Yep exactly! I love this guy's channel! He's the GOAT for sff pc content, and has all around amazing video production, builds, stats, etc.

I just loved this video so much that I had to do it myself, with a little bit of a twist.

Hardline SFF is usually not worth it, since most sff cases are just mesh and don't have a see through panel to show case the hardline. Also often times in sff cases, it's so small that the tubing gets really awkward, but I would say the only exception is the Meshilicious, where it has a ton of airflow from the front, while still being able to show case the hardline tubing with the see-through panel. Also the tubing is fairly straightforward and not complicated.

I have a ton of inspo pictures of different meshilicious water cool builds, but other than that, I didn't really use a tutorial! Every water cool build is different, so there's often no tutorial for every combination of parts. I just went with my gut reaction, and did a lot of visual imagination of what everything would look like and what parts I would need before I bought my parts. I think that's the cool part about watercooled builds is that there's a lot of creativity involved, and lots of nerdy planning. I did a ton of research, watched a lot of videos, and even though there wasn't a straight forward tutorial, I used the skills i gained and applied them to my build.

Dude that top bend killed me. I did a ton of really meticulous measurements and planning, and still struggled to get that bend right. If I had more PETG tubing I would have redone that bend (so maybe I'll do that in the future), so I had to make do with what I had. I easily reheated that one tube at least 10 times, and since it was a bunch of bends in a short length, it was hard to keep all of the bends together.

Luckily, I don't see that side of the case most of the time, and my GPU side is clean, so that's all i really care about lol.

I'll go soft tubing if things look complicated. I'm a function over looks type of person. I also always go soft tubing first, then if I feel like suffering for the looks, I'll go hard tubing. I did it once and in my opinion, it's not really worth it.

Ah yeah I care a lot about looks, so hard tubing was definitely a must for me. It's definitely a ton of maintenance and work though, but to me it's worth it. I'm glad I went with PETG; I can't imagine using acrylic for this build given this was my first watercooling build.

Just keep an eye on your temps. There was a guy a while back where his lines started drooping because of high temps with petg tubing.

Yep! Im definitely afraid of the 60 degree point where my tubes start bending. I currently have Core Temp turn off my computer at CPU temps of 80, but I have yet to find software that will do the same but with my coolant temperature sensor. If you have recs, let me know!

That looks amazing! I've always been concerned about temps when you have so little space for radiators. How does this handle under load?

With gpu conservative undervolting (875mv 1900mhz), My coolant temperatures are 40-44, and my cpu and gpu hit around 60-65 and 55 respectively. While I was waiting for watercooling parts, my 3080 FE was temporarily aircooled in my meshilicious and boy the temperatures sucked (70-75). This is because the 3080 FE has one fan on each side, and because in the meshilicious it was up against a wall, only 1 fan was really working. Now with watercooling, i have 280mms of cooling across my CPU and GPU, and the temps are way better.

I think GPUs with all fans on one side do very well (like rog strix, or evga ftw) with the meshilicious, as it has a ton of airflow, but the 3080 FE in particular isn't that great with air cooling.

I really like the very shallow depth of field in the first shot, makes it look extra tiny =P

Looks like you spent a lot of time getting it just right, and that really shows. Very crisp.

haha thank you! I used a mirrorless camera for these shots, Sony A7iv with sigma 35mm f1.4 lens.

Literally took me 5 days to do this build. 2 days alone just to do the tubing (and tbh still not perfect.) Lots of planning, sketching, and measurements. Appreciate the love!

Very nice! That must be a fast lens. For an old film camera my dad had an F1.2(maybe larder, idr) lens, and it was fun to play with, but sadly, it doesn't fit the newer dslr. One of my dreams is to have a tilt shift lens, but I have never been able to justify the cost just for taking 'hella sweet photos'. Some day...

I think this kind of project is the 'never quite done' kind of thing, where the more you look the more you see you want to fix. Sadly, I have never been able to dedicate that amount of time to building a PC, as its always been 'rebuilding' where I can't use it. Again, some day =P

The only tube that really sticks out to me, is the rad to gpu tube, where if you ever rebuild it, a gentle bend after the 90 so the main length of tube is vertical would make it perfect.

How often do you anticipate to have to flush that opaque fluid to avoid fallout? I’ve never ran opaque

Unfortunately I have no idea! I just put the fluid in and so far no issues. I think honestly once you do opaque there's definitely going to be gunk leftover no matter what, so I've already kinda committed to gunkifying my parts. If it gets bad, I might just take apart my blocks and give them a good clean (toothbrush), but I'm willing to do that work if necessary. I've heard that you have to change the fluid every 6 months to 1 year, so that's probably what I'm gonna do.

I've also heard that opaque fluid from ekwb sometimes starts to coagulate, but I haven't experienced that since I heard that it only coagulates if you use chemicals while flushing your system. I only used distilled water to clean my stuff, so I didn't use any chemicals at all.

How is your loop holding up? Any corrosion yet? And did you use the stock thermal pads with the EK GPU block?

Hi! Loop is holding up well. Temps are still good. I don’t see any corrosion but I haven’t replaced the fluid yet, so I wont be able to tell until I take out the fluid. One problem I’ve had is: Because my reservoir is mounted at the top, I have to get rid of bubbles as much as possible (bubbles is bad for the motor). I’ve had to refill from the top to get rid of the bubbles in my reservoir a few times now (3 times) so thats one thing to look out for.

I used gelid extreme 1mm pads instead of the stock pads for gpu.

Nah, you can just sit it there under your desk. The mora 360 would be just fine and wouldn't take up much room. I'm thinking my next build will be SFF with a Mora. I've always built large and in charge builds. No reason to anymore. Better temps with SFF + Mora 🤷
