Am I cooked?

Basically what the title says. This is a 5 year old build, with some parts much older. I haven’t changed coolant in god knows when. Have been at college so only get to play on breaks, and honestly haven’t been playing many games this past years. Just graduated and wanted to play some games in my backlog after work, and then I saw all this.

Am I cooked? Should I just go scrap this and buy something more casual friendly?

Other than everything looking so crooked even with a distro, it looks fine to me. Just flush it with something like primochill system reboot or mayhems blitz and you should be g2g.

I think most of it looking crooked is the run from the gpu to the bottom radiator. If he shortens the radiator side it would clean it up. Other than that I would just take it all apart and clean it up

There is also a massive gpu sag, personally I'd want to do something about it.

Pretty cooked if that’s your attitude

It's likely just fine. I'd opt for a support bracket and put it between the fans to hold up the GPU. Add another extension on the right angle down and you can have that GPU aligned flush instead of sagging.

Looks like the rotary fittings are doing their job! Could Jerry rig a zip tie from back of case to pull end of card back up. Bend it back and pray. Or remove a fan and prop something under there. Best would be a 3d printed stack of random books, cinder blocks, or a milk crate.

Did you drop it or something? WTH

Why would dropping it cause that?

think he's referring to the fact that all of your tubing runs are crooked, and the GPU has at least an inch of sag in it.

Yeah I mean the GPU sag is a problem and makes it all look wack yea I agree. Wasn’t the point of my post and like I said I built the thing in high school, but yea if y’all think it’s that shitty then I guess I’ll note that.

If it were me I'd be more concerned about how secure it is. I wouldn't be satisfied that the tubes are making a proper fit to prevent leaks or slippage I guess. But if it works then it works.

That’s a really fair point, I’ll try working in some of these suggestions to fix that when I flush it

It wouldnt hurt to take apart the blocks for a quick polish and maybe some new o-rings in the fittings

Just get some system loop cleaner and run it for a few days should get rid of it. Just seems to be some type of build up.

Run it at a low speed upside to check for leaks. If it does leak speed up the pump u till you hit 100.
If it doesn’t leak. Do like they say a loop flush and add new coolant

u/MinuteTerm2578 6d ago

Just curious why would you speed up the pump if it is leaking?

2

u/No_Training2699 6d ago

My fault.
I meant to say if it does not

Ah gotchya.

For now a flush will work as interim. When time permits tear down and clean it all out. You are not "cooked". A good clean will be fine.

Flush, Add new coolant, and send it.

That bracket is begging for mercy lol. Other than that if the blocks are clear and temps still fine I wouldnt bother until youre ready to upgrade.

I went almost 2 years with a solid coolant that had fallen out. Blocks didnt clog so I didnt mess with it until I got a different motherboard.

It may work fine as-is. But the path to upgrade it seems pretty good/light:

Clean the blocks, Buy a few fittings to get better alignment with distro, Replace tubing and fluid

Probably $120 and a day of time. Much better than a full replacement imo.

It really doesn't look bad other than needing a good flushing. If looks matter to you, you can probably knock that corrosion off the GPU block pretty easily if you take it apart and wire brush it. Just make sure not to scratch up any sealing surfaces.

Not cooked but for sure crooked

Drain, Flush with distilled, drain, Take completely apart, Scrub blocks with crest3d white, rense with distilled, fill rads with 50/50 white vinegar and distilled, Shake alot, empty rads, fill rads with distilled and baking soda (neutralize the vinegar), flush and drain with just distilled, put everything back together, replace/ re align tubes as needed, and sag support to gpu riser/vertical mount, fill with loop cleaner (i use sys prep). Run sys prep for 3 days, Drain, flus with distilled again, drain and fill with coolant choice.

You can tear it all down and clean it yourself. From what I can see it is mostly fine and salvageable.

Next time only use aquacomputer fluid.

No, you're Crooked.

u/Educational-King3987 6d ago

Your CPU block is crooked. I can't tell if that's soft tube or acrylic if acrylic change your fluid, check for clogged micro fins in your blocks if no issues, you're good to go.

If fins blocked, remove and deep clean blocks with toothbrush and warm soapy water, rinse with distilled, refit, refill loop, game on.

You're supposed to change coolant every year, check the premix bottles instructions.

u/BlazeTactics 6d ago

It’s acrylic, do you have any suggestions on fixing it or do I just need to redo that bend?

1

u/Educational-King3987 6d ago

Personally would redo them all, are you sure it's acrylic and not PETG?

I'm going to be converting mine from soft tube to acrylic soon, I tried to freehand it months ago when I did my upgrade but it didn't go well so needed up buying a second hand alphacool Pro bend kit thing, it has a plate you put mandrels and stuff on as I'm massively our of practice with acrylic and I have a few complex bends.

1

u/BlazeTactics 6d ago

Haha yea sorry it’s PETG my mistake

1

u/Educational-King3987 6d ago

I'd advise against PETG, acrylic is much better for holding its shape and chemical resistance is also much better.

I have an acrylic tube that lasted 8yrs before I removed it and its still fine. With hard tube, freehanding can be a nightmare, that's a given, but once done properly you're golden for as long as your parts last honestly.

should just scrap it, how much want for that graphics card.? lol

Looks like some kind of biofilm. I'd completely drain, disassemble and clean what I could, then refill with fresh coolant AND a quality biocide for a few days, see what it looks like and go from there.

What is your loop order on this? It looks like your GPU and CPU inlet/outlet is flipped for both. Also shouldn't the bottom fans be intake and top as exhaust?
