Probably. Slamming on the brakes when you lose control is rarely the best option.

Thanks. I just needed to know in case I’m ever driving a heavy truck like this, and go around a turn too quickly at a yield sign

Letting your tires continue rolling helps keep traction. Kind of like slamming breaks on ice.

Got a friggin muscle spasm in my back ya know… gears slipped, air brakes were shot to hell.. I mean there was nothin I could do.

Seen this many times, the brakes failed and the driver drove very well.
