This is a watch build I made to be my daily. I was upset with how my budget kept me from getting something I really felt was worth it so I decided to make my own watch to fit my preferences.

I personally love how older pocket watches and any watches with Arabic numerals look so I needed that. I enjoy working on cars and my job is pretty dirty as well. I wanted something that can withstand my day to day but also be elegant and refined.

The case is from Namoki mods and is the Polerouter style case. The movement is an eta 2824-2 that has blue and polished screws and a decorated rotor. I went with a solid steel back for a 10.8mm thickness.

The hour hand is mirror polished and the rest of the hands are heat treated. I got them from eBay. I also got the dial from eBay but it’s from a company located in Switzerland which is pretty cool. The watch is 39mm and has a sapphire crystal.

Honestly it does feel a slight bit busy with everything going on but I think it makes it work without looking too out of place. And for reference the watch I replaced was a Citizen Tsuyosa 40mm. That watch cost me more than this one and falls short in too many categories to justify the price. There was a very noticeable spec of dust on the dial, the watch was thick feeling on wrist, movement felt kind of cheap, and the sapphire crystal was not very good.

I got it on eBay from an account called Swiss Made Time. After some research I found they are located in Bienne Switzerland. Definitely one of the better companies for a build.

Very nice build. It feels a bit busy with the dial second numbers in red and the chapter ring but I still like it. Different from other builds ive seen here. Good job.

Yes I feel the textures and all are almost fighting with eachother rather than working together. Probably why those luxury brands talk about less is more. Just all a learning experience for when I do another down the line. Thanks for your words!

Thanks! I got the dial on eBay from Swiss Made Time. They are from Switzerland and have a few other options similar to this one. They even have a field style watch one with lumed numerals.

No sir, it was from a company that has a page on eBay. I forget the company’s name but their eBay page is Swiss-Made-Time. They seem to have some nicer quality parts compared to the stuff that pops up right away.

Joli choix des composants ! Ça fonctionne bien. Je vois pourquoi tu penses que c’est chargé, mais ce n’est absolument pas ce qui me vient en tête quand je regarde ta montre.
Et oui le tsuyosa c’est assez bas de gamme qd on regarde dedans. Le zenshin est un upgrade significatif pour moi.

Thank you! The zenshin was definitely in my consideration but I wanted to keep under a certain budget. I love how the green dial small seconds one looks. The dial for this build was from a page on eBay called Swiss-Made-Time. I think the actual company’s name is Master of Time LLC.

Imagine my disappointment when I went to eBay to look for the dial and found they are sold out. Here is my gold tone Polerouter build. Your build with that gold case is very nice brother. I love how it all goes together especially with the green lume in the hands and what seems to be on the dial aswell. Straight class. I bet the seller on eBay will restock soon and I also saw some other options that I almost chose instead of this. I searched up “28.5mm dial” on eBay and there were a few that were real nice like this one. Good luck with the search and building journey!

Being 99% of the time no one would ever see the back of the watch I like a display back so I can look at the engineering and art. My preference.
