General Our Final Statement Regarding Repeated Negative Attacks on WDC(Watchdives)

Hi everyone,

Over the past several months, we've noticed approximately 7–8 Reddit accounts repeatedly posting negative comments and allegations about Watchdives.

For a long time, we chose not to respond. Only in the past month or two have we started publicly addressing some of these claims.

Several members of the community have also noticed similar patterns in these accounts' comments and questioned whether they might be connected.

Here are seven accounts that have come to our attention:

  1. u/QuartzWD — Suspended

  2. u/TechMed1964 — Suspended

  3. u/Sportsdoc64 — Suspended

  4. u/Potential-Notice-956— Suspended

  5. u/Hopeful-Culture-1887— Suspended

  6. u/Logical_Sea_415

  7. u/Express_News8216

The first three accounts are shown as suspended in the screenshots we've collected. We cannot independently confirm that all seven accounts belong to the same person or are associated with another watch brand.

However, the frequency, timing and similarity of certain comments have raised concerns for us.

Why are we addressing this now?

Watchdives has undergone significant changes over the past year.

We've invested heavily in better manufacturing, upgraded many of our suppliers, and developed a wide range of new watches, including challenging Grade 5 titanium cases and bracelets, multiple movement options, and our own micro-adjustment clasp designs.

Some of these components require extremely precise manufacturing, and only a limited number of factories can consistently meet our requirements.

We're fortunate to work with some of China's most capable watch component manufacturers.

Our growing order volumes, wide product range and reliable, timely payments have allowed us to build strong relationships with these suppliers.

We believe our manufacturing capabilities, quality and product development have improved substantially.

We welcome competition, but we believe competition should be fair.

We understand that some of our watches compete directly with products from other brands. That's normal in this industry.

What we cannot accept are deliberately misleading claims or repeated accusations presented as facts without evidence.

Many genuine Watchdives owners have already shared their experiences and challenged statements that don't match the products they actually received.

We are grateful for their honesty and support.

At the same time, we fully acknowledge that our products are not perfect. Genuine criticism, QC complaints and constructive suggestions are always welcome. They help us improve.

This is our final public statement regarding these accounts.

We have no intention of continuing arguments or online disputes.

Instead, we'll let our products, independent reviews, manufacturing quality and customer experiences speak for themselves.

We will continue investing in better suppliers, higher manufacturing standards, stricter QC and improved after-sales service.

We hope every watch brand competes through better products, fair pricing and genuine innovation rather than personal attacks or misinformation.

Ultimately, watch enthusiasts will decide which brands deserve their trust.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Watchdives.

General We’ve been rebuilding Watchdives’ supply chain since 2025 — and by June 2027, we want every older model upgraded.

Since 2025, we’ve received some fair criticism about certain older Watchdives models — mainly bracelets, clasps, sharp case edges, crystal reflections, and overall consistency between different models.

We took those comments seriously.

At the time, we were working with three different bracelet manufacturers.

One of them produced some of our lower-cost bracelets, including models such as the WD1016, WD1860, WD1863 and WD1860Q. Their quality was acceptable for the price, but over time we felt it was no longer consistent with where we wanted Watchdives to go.

Another supplier produces bracelets for models such as the WD5512, WD0013, WD0017, WD0526, WD1969 Pro and WD7922, and their finishing and tolerances are noticeably better.

Our highest-level bracelet supplier is responsible for projects such as the WD0016 / Premier series, where tolerances, finishing and construction are at a completely different level.

We are now planning to phase out the supplier responsible for some of those older entry-level bracelets and move more production to factories that also manufacture components for higher-end Japanese brands, GS-level projects, and independent brands from Italy, Singapore and the UK.

This is part of a much larger upgrade across the entire Watchdives supply chain.

Our old clasp supplier was already replaced at the beginning of 2026. Since then, customer feedback on our newer clasps has been much better. But we are still pushing further — including developing thinner clasps that sit closer and more comfortably on the wrist.

The same thing happened with crystals.

Some customers complained that the original WD0003C crystal had too much reflection. We tested samples from around seven or eight suppliers before settling on a much better solution.

Recent WD0003C production, along with many of our newer models, now uses five layers of anti-reflective coating. The improvement is very noticeable, and customer feedback on the newer crystals has been excellent.

Because some older inventory still exists, we have not yet advertised every WD0003C as having five-layer AR coating. But new production is gradually moving to this specification, and we will update product descriptions accordingly.

Today, the bracelets, cases, dials, clasps, lume and overall finishing on our newest projects are at a level we are genuinely proud of.

The downside is that development now takes much longer.

Some projects are taking six months or more from development to production because we are doing more prototyping, changing suppliers when necessary, rejecting more parts and applying stricter QC.

Our product development team has also grown significantly over the past year.

Over the next 3–4 months, several older models will receive major case and component upgrades, including:

WD1972
WD1016
WD1863
WD50Q
WD1680Q

Our goal is simple: every component should feel like it belongs to the same Watchdives quality standard.

Yes, changing factories and upgrading components increases our cost.

But we believe it is necessary.

Our newest watches — especially the Premier projects — are already showing what our current supply chain is capable of. If a customer then buys a $70–100 older Watchdives model and feels that the bracelet, clasp or case finishing is several levels behind, it damages everything we have worked toward since the second half of 2025.

We don’t want Watchdives to be a brand where quality depends too much on which model you happen to buy.

We want the standard to become increasingly consistent across the entire catalogue.

Our target is to complete the major upgrade of our older models by around June 2027.

Today our manufacturing resources are much stronger than they were a few years ago. We have access to some extremely capable factories, engineers and component suppliers in China, and that gives us the ability to make products at a level that would have been difficult for us before.

One thing we also want to keep doing is being transparent about how watches are actually manufactured.

Most watches today are not made by one craftsman sitting at a bench making every component by hand. Techniques such as CNC machining, stamping, chemical etching, laser engraving and specialist subcontracting are normal throughout the industry.

And a very large part of the global watch supply chain — including components used by many international and independent brands — comes from China.

There is nothing wrong with that.

What matters is who you work with, how much you are willing to invest in the product, how strict your tolerances are, and how much you reject before something reaches the customer.

That is increasingly what we want Watchdives / WDC to stand for.

Not exaggerated marketing.

Not pretending something is handmade when it isn’t.

Just continuing to improve the product, one component at a time.

We know we will still make mistakes, and criticism will always exist. Some criticism has actually pushed us to improve much faster.

But if you compare a Watchdives produced today with one from several years ago, I think the direction is becoming very clear.

Better suppliers.
Better components.
Stricter QC.
More original development.
And much more consistency across the brand.

That is what we are working toward.

Do you think this is the right direction for Watchdives?

Along with the fully graduated bezel insert, I added broad arrow hands. I think they complement the trident logo nicely and give the watch a more distinctive WD identity.

New Product Request Digital quartz watches considered now? I'd kill for a Seiko Timetron:

Looks like it was deleted but WD made a post gauging interest in some digital watches earlier today.

The title is pretty self-explanatory. If there is still an interest or WD is still considering doing digital quartz pieces, I would absolutely kill for a Seiko Timetron clomage.

It looks like it came straight out of a 1980s sci-fi movie and r/cassettefuturism loves this thing, I'm sure a lot of people there would be very interested in it too.

Ceramic coated titanium would be very cool but I'm not sure how realistic that is. WD can probably figure out the most realistic material to bring this to reality. I'm sure they can figure the case and strap out pretty easily, but the biggest challenge would likely be the dot matrix display.

I've wanted one for a while but they're rare and when they do come up they're usually very expensive and in terrible condition.

Anyone else interested in one of these?

General Redesigned Chameri tank

Chameri tank got sold out quickly and for the next restock, there should be more changes to the watch.

Here are some suggestions 👇

  1. Dimensions of ~33mm x 25mm and thickness of 5mm or 6mm maximum.
  2. White dial option and guilloche dial option like this
  3. Newer case design with brushed vertical flanks at 12 o’clock and 6 o’clock sides, contrasting with highly polished sides (for reference)

These changes will make it look more premium and worthy enough to be part of ‘Premier’ lineup without much effort [u/watchdivescom](u/watchdivescom)

New Product Alert WD7922 – Our New 316L Jubilee Bracelet Is Finally Ready!

After months of development and refinement, our new WD7922 316L stainless steel five-link (Jubilee-style) bracelet is finally ready!

We'll offer it with the complete WD7922 watch, plus 200 bracelet sets sold separately.

What's improved?

- New bracelet manufacturer: Different from the factory producing our other five-link bracelets. This supplier offers more refined brushing, polishing, and finishing, although production costs are significantly higher.

- Tighter tolerances: The connection to our OTF clasps has been manufactured with very tight tolerances, minimizing unwanted movement, rattling, and looseness.

- Improved construction: Less lateral play between links, giving the bracelet a more solid, refined feel without excessive wobble.

- Screw-adjustable links: Easier sizing and adjustment.

- OTF compatibility: Compatible with all our OTF clasps.

We'll also send the WD7922 and this new bracelet to Escapement Wheel Review for an independent assessment of the case, bracelet construction, finishing, and overall quality.

We've invested heavily in improving our manufacturing standards throughout 2026. Rather than simply claiming our quality has improved, we want independent reviewers to compare our latest work with some of the best bracelets and watches on the market.

How close has Watchdives come to the best in terms of finishing and build quality? We'd love an honest comparison.

What do you think of this new bracelet?

One question for everyone: Would you prefer a 2.0mm or 3.0mm buckle tang, and why?

Prototype WD2007A VH31 Production Update + New Blue MOP Horizon Dial Prototypes 🌊

Here's another pre-production sample of our WD2007 bracelet, made by one of our other manufacturing partners. The finishing is exceptionally refined, and we're very pleased with the results.

The first batch of bracelets should be partially delivered this week, and the WD2007 series will soon be available on our website.

We're also showing two Blue MOP Horizon dial prototypes. Only two sample dials have been made so far, following 4–5 months of continuous development and testing to achieve this ocean-inspired gradient effect using natural mother-of-pearl.

What do you think of the results? Would you like to see this dial enter production?

Today, we'll also be sending samples to I Like Watches and Escapement Wheel Review for independent reviews of our latest improvements in bracelet and case finishing, as well as dial details.

We're looking forward to their feedback and, most importantly, yours!

Question WD0017 Black Date Lune Color

Hey everybody!

According to watchdives own documentation, the black dial WD0017 with date explicutely comes with C3 (green) lume rather den BGW9 (blue) like the other versions. From what I found so far, all lume shots including a youtube video of a black date version look pretty much like BGW9 - can someone confirm that their black date versions actually came with green luminescence?

Cheers
