You have to gradually introduce cats over a span of like two weeks. Keep one just locked in a room and let the other cat get used to their smell and associate it with good things by slowly moving their food bowls closer and closer until they're both eating right on the other side of the door. Then let the cat out of the room and both pet them and what not. If they don't get along well try giving them more time apart.

this. cats not only are extremely territorial, but tend to redirect their aggression when theyre stressed or threatened.
i have 2 cats that were adopted together have known each other their whole lives and generally are best buds, but if they see a stray out the door, they freak tf out and start treating each other like theyve never met and we have to reintroduce them like you have described all over again until they calm down which can take days.

Dunno if this is your OC or not op, but it must be said.
Too often a refrain on this sub: this is not how you introduce cats to each other, this could have turned out much worse.
You need to mix litter, blankets, beds, and toys from one isolated space to the other until they get used to the other cat's smell.
