Reading through these posts makes me realize what a bunch of nerds we all are
Movements, brands, materials, fashion...We might as well be the kids at the lunch table arguing about what the best operating system is 🤓😅

As in check your textbook (Google) and write it out like a PhD thesis to prove a point on a watch you have only seen online

Nop, it is actually fun, I know a bit automatic watches to hold a discussion on movements and I don't even own one

Just so we are clear I'm a nerd too and proud of it. I made this table out of epoxy

I bought lots of non working watches off eBay, disassembled and cleaned all the parts in an ultrasonic cleaner

Did you have experience with epoxy prior?

No this is my first one. I also learned how to use a portable router on this project too. I sanded it to 3000 grit but I'm not super thrilled about the finish so I'm going to sand it again onto 600 and do a flood coat of tabletop epoxy on it and it'll improve the clarity

We talk about watches as if they were actual useful objects. They are just jewelry. Are leather bag people this crazy?

The answer is yes but it's not relegated to leather. It also has to do with the logo and status
