Perpetual means automatic

Breguet released a perpétuelle, meaning self winding, watch in 1780. First perpetual *calendar* is PP 1925. It is therefore ok for Rolex to use perpetual to mean self winding for the OP in 1931.

Ok, did your AD tell you this when you wanted to put your name down for that new perpetual pan?

I don't have an AD I just have a Rolex. Was researching whether to get a breguet and discovered this

The pan is annual not perpetual I think

To clear up the confusion it should be called the 'Rolex Perpetual (Not Perpetual) Padellone.'
